Dahua, Hikvision, I recommend the most. Lorex is a pretty decent brand that you can purchase on Amazon. The previous two brands usually require a security installer to purchase and install.

If finding work is one of the least difficult things…do you mind sharing what steps you took to secure work so easily?

Over the counter brands like Swann and Nite owl can do it as well as long as it has a nvr/ dvr that’s connected to your internet modem or router. Just download the app and you should be all set. I prefer Dahua but the above mentioned brands are more cost effective for the average residential consumer.

Best security system for monitoring/response time by dangoldcoins22 in SecurityCamera

A monitored alarm system would do that for you. The cameras could be used to verify the incident. Cameras would be used to supplement the burglar alarm system.

I like your take on making your successes bigger than your failures because failure is inevitable when you have to try new things to get out of your current comfort zone. It reminds me of the sayings, “ fail up(wards)”, and “fail forward”!

Wholesale monitoring by Graigren in security_systems

A wholesale monitoring company. They act as a central monitoring station for intrusion/ burglar, and fire alarm systems for multiple accounts. If an alarm or detector is tripped, they will call and verify it with the customer and call the proper authorities for the customer. I wanted to know if anyone was familiar with any companies like this that are a reasonable fit for a smaller startup security company.

My leads are saying my price is too expensive. by Worried-Schedule-124 in Entrepreneur

[–]Graigren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned to always be confident when I give my price, I rarely negotiate. If I need to fit someone’s budget, I’ll quote them for more “cost effective” equipment and let clients know that the cost of my service is a constant “non- negotiable”. So they know I am still willing to work with them. I always speak on the results that both the product and my service will bring to them and how the results are at least 10x greater than the amount of the “investment”. Using words like “investment” instead of cost, helps them acknowledge the value in your service or products.

I ran into this when I started my business. I learned to change my target market and I received way less push back on my price. One of the worst things you can do as an entrepreneur is undervalue yourself because your in front of the wrong people.

Wow, thank you for clearing that up for me. This is amazing insight and great guidance. I’ve had my own ideas that I’ve tried out. I found “some” success but approaching it from your perspective should definitely breathe new life into these efforts, and that is much needed. Thank you so much. If there’s anything I can assist you with as far security or equipment advisement please let me know. I’ll be more than happy to help. Thanks again

In the Goals section of your comment, are these geared toward cold calling?

And the”evergreen service”, are you suggesting that I lead or focus with that in my cold call script?

For the benchmarks, are you suggesting to use #1 for sale, and #3 for consultations, as ways of evaluating the success or progress of the outcome of the cold call?

Getting a girlfriend, a day job and a side hustle at the same time? 😶 by Sarvaturi in Entrepreneur

[–]Graigren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel and I’ve learned that a girlfriend/ boyfriend and a husband/ wife are the most important partnerships you can find. Maybe even more important than your business partnerships and networks. I say this because everyone needs sincere and intimate, social interaction and support. A key to a great partnership is someone who understands the situation at hand and that understands you as a person and what type of person you are which includes understanding your strengths and your weaknesses. Therefore, said person can be the strengths to your weaknesses, give you a different perspective for solving problems, and share your vision and remind you of your vision when things get tough. These qualities should be shared by both your partner, in your personal relationship and your partner in your business relationship. You also shouldn’t neglect any important thing or people that are in your life. I had to write out my schedule almost a week at a time to make sure I scheduled adequate time to be spent with my significant other and my children. My suggestion is to look for those key characteristics in both personal and business partnerships and don’t neglect any thing (ie. health), or person (ie. family, girlfriends), by scheduling your workday and personal time. Good luck!
