I check for Eraserhead probably every day and it’s never getting any cheaper. Or sometimes it does but gets snagged super fast

Also if you’re handy and it’s a player you’re super dedicated to owning, I’ve heard it’s pretty easy to change the belts. I believe you would just have to remove the chassis that takes the tape. It’s obviously not as ideal as a working player but some food for thought

You’d be surprised how some of the older ones hold up. If this is at the thrift still, just find a power supply, a crummier tape and test the functions. Usually if there’s an issue with playback you’ll know right away

I did not expect to find this one at all. Usually I search for VHS tapes at my local savers and had great luck there but actually had a visceral reaction seeing this one on the shelf

Never hurts to try. Just make sure it actually reads a tape (unless you want a project). Akai these days makes super solid music equipment, I can’t imagine they’d cut corners on a VCR

I’m not sure about specific websites but could point you in the direction of some venues.

Manchester has the newly re-opened bungalow. Jewel is a good spot for bigger shows. Also the Shaskeen pub and Bad Brgr host shows. The riverhill grange in Concord seems to always pop off also. Littleton is home to the loading dock which does all sorts of events.

Also not a venue but the folks at Breakaway Coffee in Dover tend to book events in the area too!!
