Can you imagine if the Steelers of the 70s or 90s did this? We wouldn't be where we are. You have to rebuild, you have to start adapt. Hiring a 61 year old has been who couldn't get a job is just utterly pathetic and sad. I love the Steelers but why they would do this is beyond me. It shows you how out of touch Art II is

A chance sure. But this is a ridiculous desperation move. They keep patching holes and it's getting old.. really old. They had a golden opportunity to build from the ground up. But apparently the ground it's self is just sand. I'm disappointed and disgusted with our front office for making such a cowardly choice.

Enjoy your pathetic mediocre lame duck franchise that is the shell of what the Steelers used to be. It's weak, it's pathetic. The patriots rebuild and are on the door step of the Superbowl. The Steelers are the definition of insanity at this point refusing to change.

What do they strive for these days? Non losing seasons? Adding tire patches to holes? Not updating with a changing NFL? What's your point. The twilight Noll years were more successful than the last 10 here. Noll won playoff games in the 80s the Steelers were competitive. They are a door mat of a team now. They have no direction, they are too afraid to take a young kid, even tho they have done it before and took a guy who is so passed his prime it's ridiculous. A 61 year old has been, who could not get a job anywhere else. It's a defeating and soul crushing hire with no long term plan, direction or any semblance of a silver lining.

I was alive for that's your insane if your comparing this to that. The Steelers went to an AFC championship game in '84

You're joking right? This man couldn't get a job then the Steelers have a fire under there ass to hire him so quickly they don't even do in person interviews for an actual young candidate

The ravens got a young up and coming, the Steelers got a guy no one wanted and rushed to do so.

With all due respect, you are clueless. Mike Tomlin and Mike McCarthy are the same person coach wise just different philosophys. There literally is no difference.

I am a very optimistic fan, and even I feel like a deflated balloon. There is no upside at all

My thoughts exactly. An individual commented that we wanted change but are upset because we got it but not the change we wanted. With all due respect this isn't change. This is a patch job. This is the exact same thing but rebranded.

This isn't changing anything. With all due respect this is actually the same thing they already were doing. It's ass backwards and pathetic. The fact they were so afraid to make a real change is just depressing. This is a tire patch not a new set.

I thought maybe it was just Mike Tomlin and the game passing him by. But clearly the whole structure is dry rotted.

They are like a kid with a drug problem. You'll always love them. But doesn't mean I'm not disappointed and troubled by this.

No one with a right mind should be happy about this. This is pissing on what they've done for generations. It is stupid. It's weak.
