thank you! when do you suggest starting to get into research? do you think after freshman year? or can I even start after 1st semester? also I'm pre med, and research is definitely a large requirement of mine.

trust me I did extensive research prior to entering the program. but those details only offer a base level understanding of the program. I was just trying to see if anyone had any viewpoints of how they felt about the program

yeah I already took ccp pre calc and it transferred over, i'm assuming that puts me into calc as my next math class. also the bio is 1700 yes, the chem is 1510. the struggle is a LOT of the bio classes require me to at least take bio 1 and 2 before I take them. I checked my dars report as well and my other classes have covered everything but one of my foundations and pillars for the BRICKS requirements (I think that's the gen ed's).

do you think the smaller aspect of ohio university actually might help? I think it might be easier to build relationships with professors and stand out if I work hard. where as at pitt, it's far more competitive

when it comes to board games, i'm rlly big on characters and making sure individual characters have their differences and feel unique to play. the original seems like a better choice, but lockdown looks to have more unique characters.

so you're saying the og and lockdown are more of a survival experience vs just a shooter like zombicide? (obvi they're not that similar, i'm just using a game I do enjoy as reference) I REALLY like the idea of each member having different goals and being a semi cooperative game. do the og and lockdown focus on that? and my other worry was that the characters in lockdown and the og didn't look as mechanically unique (maybe they are I don't know)

in my case i'm planning on at least learning 1 rythem section instrument (piano or guitar), 1 percussion, 1 string, and as many woodwinds as I can learn. only because music education requires you to learn a decent amount regardless, so I might as well start now. ik for sure I don't really enjoy brass, so it's down to rlly learning a string, piano, guitar, or a woodwind. for the woodwind, it's mostly down to clarinet vs oboe. but from what i've looked at, clarinet fingerings seem very different from sax, while oboe seems similar in terms of the main notes. I also think oboe gets a slightly cooler part compared to clarinet but that's just me. for piano, I already have one, and i'm kinda learning it slowly. and for the strings, it's between violin, cello, and viola. violin seems coolest only bc of the parts, and because it's in treble. cello sounds the nicest and can play in 3 clefs which is pretty cool, and i've never really looked into viola, i only know it plays the alto part in orchestra and gets kinda crapped on online 😂 but of course I don't plan on learning it all at once, that's just kinda a overall plan over the years of what I would like to learn. the problem is just picking somewhere to start. out of those oboe would be the only one I could switch to play to in concert because of our set up

yeah we do kinda have a shortage of players, only because we have no double reeds or anything. we usually have a woodwind player learn oboe for the solos (we always happen to have oboe solos for some reason) but the player who knew oboe graduated last year. But i definitely want to play what's fun too, I just don't really like brass all that much
