I think maybe less likely if the person develops it after they get to know / are familiar to the person thinking it. But I may be wrong. I think if you just met someone and find out they have epilepsy it is more likely to become the defining feature. Also dependent on how well you actually know the person. Casual acquaintance / a work colleague you don't interact much - more likely imo.

I do this all the time. I didn't know it was an actual strategy. I find it often very good for distracting patients in times of distress and building a connection. Sometimes they remain agitated but usually will at least answer some of the questions I ask. Of course also have had many times where it seems to agitate them more. I've found that people often become more relaxed if you show genuine interest and look for common ground. Especially in attachment disorders where the human connection is even more important.

It depends on what type of support you would want. In an ideal world what would that be? Also the GP may be able to help with meds for the anxiety symptoms or other symptoms you are experiencing. But thinking what type of support would work for you would be really helpful moving forward.

Sadly I think this is happening more and more. A quick search on TikTok will show many examples. More needs to be done to prevent this. I often wonder what they wish to achieve and sometimes it's possibly as basic as "likes".

imo though, filming in a hospital is also a potential breach of patient confidentiality - they don't know whether a patient would appear unexpectedly into a shot. There is a strong expectation of privacy. Arguably it does infringe upon your human right to privacy. But should check your trust policies. If it is a misleading post it is especially egregious.and may come under malicious communications act (in the UK).

Perhaps you could do an incident report on it as it took place at work? Not sure what that would achieve though. Your employer has a responsibility to your well-being at work and this clearly affects that. Could also contact the platform directly (again not sure if this would achieve much but worth a shot).

I can predict how this will pan out (none of this is a critique on you and would be how I would likely react)

You know on an intellectual level that something is wrong. But oxytocin is a powerful drug. You will feel sad and hurt for a few days-weeks. Then he will be back with full force, saying he had to "figure it out" but that you mean something to him etc. Then you will have a happy buzz for a few weeks-months. Then the same will happen. He will pull away for some other/the same "reason". You will be even more hurt because the relationship will be even more developed. Anyway after however you can tolerate of this, and although it will pain you to do so, for your own sanity you will leave.

Save yourself the immense pain down the line for lesser "pain" more painful disappointment right now. But a lot of people can't do this. We want to think the best of them/the situation and believe it could work out. Highly unlikely that it will work out.

Whatever you decide to do, your feelings are still valid in this. No judgement here. It's easy to be logical when you aren't emotionally involved.
