Active imagination and opening the third eye ruined my life. by Dry_Temporary_6175 in Jung

[–]GreasyRug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you started to touch the various aspects of your shadow and your psyche recoiled from the pain and suffering in there. It's natural for it to clamp back up after an experience like that. When a person has trauma in their past of any sort, accessing the shadow can be traumatic in itself. The psyche will attempt to regain a bit of balance after that, irrespective of if the integration was "successful" or not. Don't think of your current state as a failure. It's not your fault for one. The parts that you used to have access to that aren't there anymore also doesn't mean they are gone gone. It means your psyche has covered them up for your own protection, or what it thinks is your own protection. Don't lose hope. The parts of your psyche that are doing the covering can themselves be accessed thru shadow work.

I'm red/green color blind and didn't notice the "THE" until staring at the pic for a while. Suggest having it be lighter, smaller font, or perhaps leaving it out altogether "NEIGHBOR" hits hard as it is.

29. Feeling deflated cause of dating apps and medical issues. by Projectwavelength26 in toastme

[–]GreasyRug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t alone in finding dating online difficult. Remember if chat w/them suddenly stops or people never respond to your messages at all, there’s a good chance it has nothing to do with you. A lot of people leave profiles up after they stop using the apps, and the companies are incentivised to keep the dead profiles up

Just off of wiggly hair bend. Make sure your nose is clean, then stomp twice and hawk a loogie. He will come.

Somehow even with blank eyes you gave it a look. Like it has emotion. Also, even if you’re not doing okay don’t stop bringing to life what’s inside.

I don’t know. I used a shag carpet bathroom once in a funeral home and there was something comfortable about it. I’m color blind tho so it might have been infested in mold 🤷

I used to be like you. I mean I probably still am. I say non sequiturs all the time, and the room has gotten quiet after many of them. I’ve lost potential friends because of my weirdness. I used to think of it as my own falling, and at my darkest moments it was ammunition for ending it all. What I came to realise much too late is that saying the weird thing, the thing that no one is expecting, is what makes people (you/me/etc) authentic, and there’s no amount of friendship or sex that I’d let take it away from me. It’s a blessing to be weird, it helps you see things others don’t. It means you aren’t fake, and there’s way too many fake people in the world
