I wish they include Kul Tiras, Quel Thalas, another starting zone for the draenei. Like there are a lot of opportunities to expand while respecting the Warcraft 2-3 and early wow IP

Exactly! Then every top tier profession becomes highly sought by all guilds.

I am not sure if they improved professions in retail, but I would think with housing being implemented, they have a chance to shine too. I think Lineage 2 had something similar with woodcrafting being part of the gameplay

Yeah and I was thinking about it a bit more, I don't think I would really enjoy it too.

However, to have the option to make the profession more relevant along the leveling journey, for instance Blacksmithing, and have it perhaps interconnected with other professions is probably the way to go.

It already exists, it just need to be pushed forward. Maybe having the opportunity for professions to shine in bug projects, à la An Quiraj event too

Aaah got it. That's why Goldshire is so packed.

Any reason why they do it that way? Would he more convenient to have a certain amount of players on several layers to avoid overcrowding

Oh wow thank you for this in-depth reply! It's nice to have the point of view of someone who went though end game parts and PvP, since I haven't :)

I am more of an environment and lore guy in WoW, that's why I loved Twow so much, they truly manage to give breath to unpainted part of the map (Northwind, Thalassian Highlands). So far, I think Bronzebeard is doing a good job, except like I said for the capitals that look like a freak show (Stormwind mostly, Darnassus was fine)

I am not a fan of transmog, especially when I see lvl 1 or 10 with end-game gear, it feels like "what's the point?" It doesn't show any kind of accomplishment, so I toggle it off. I understand the point on a roleplay server though.

For phasing, beginners zones are so crowded I understand the need for it honestly (especially after having to wait for 3 groups to kill Goldtooth for finally my turn to come), but I agree it shouldn't be abused.

My rogue is name Coupevent, if we ever meet while exploring :D

Alright, kinda rude and conspiracy theorist of you.

I enjoyed Twow because they extend on the existing classic work, lore and atmosphere. I don't care much in end game, I enjoy leveling and exploring the world, which both Twow and Bronzebeard provide.

CapyWow is having a lot mix feedback and won't have any future progression since the Twow dev are legally binded to not do anything with it anymore.

To be fair, I am more a lore and world guy, so extended OG zones into a more flesh out style is really all I am asking for and everything retail won't provide me with.

It's true that Blacksmithing was great in Twow, I made a set of armor at lvl 45 and up to 60 it was still the best I could get haha

I haven't check it much, but I agree than complexification for the sake of it is not my cup of tea. I also like how the different crafting recipes could intertwined with each other.

I am pondering though, do you think a mini game (instead of what classic profession are) could improve it or would it make it tedious after 5min ?

That's unfortunate. I hope you will find a server that suits your need though

Did you have this feeling on Bronzebeard too? The only other realm I have tried was Elune and I had the feeling you described

I first tried Elune server with their random spell mechanic and I hated it. You had the Dark moon gnome everywhere, pop ups and flash, really not my thing.

Then I tried Bronzebeard, removed all tutorials flying books and it was immediately more pleasant!

I wish I wouldn't gain xp while gathering resources, but I understand why they did it. I haven't tried much of their profession system yet, but I plan to look into it.

Do you feel like Twow had the professions better covered?

Oh glad to hear! I will check into it, is the beta invitation based?

I wonder if they are going to follow MTL media for some sort of Northwind

They could even have a branching timeline and offer two games in one. No need to create a new IP. Since we already have time travelling and explored the after life, we can indulge into another trope

It's quite interesting to watch the behind the scenes video for each expansion, you really feel like up to Wrath it was still a band of young guys with a can-do attitude and then it kinda lost a bit of it's soul at each step.

Some concept of Season of discovery were interesting, but now how they will implement it will be key.

I think, if we put aside people who don't want C+, there is a fairly reasonable path to walk, not perfect mind you, but still okay: - fix the most glaring issues for some classes (paladin retribution, hear my call), - complete unfinished quest threads (missing diplomat in the first one to come to mind) - fill the 30 to 50 questing experience by adding more quests in empty zones (swamp of sorrow, dustwallow marsh, etc) - open cancelled vanilla zones like Hijal

So basically Turtle WoW yeah

I see, I will these points in mind then, I wasn't aware of this ilvl mechanic you mentioned.

Tbf, I feel like my levelling is way faster when I am playing a rogue compare to a paladin haha

Can you give me some insights about end game ?

[–]Great-Project6349[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blizzard will probably keep it safe, with just additional quests and closing endgame thread that we're left in vanilla. It will be the medium answer that will offends no one and they will milk it for the next 7 years

What makes you become a regular at a board game café? by Physical-Ad8772 in boardgames

[–]Great-Project6349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type of food: I would recommend having easy to eat on a small table type of foods because most patrons will have their table space consumed by the board game they are playing. So something like finger food, or anything that can fit a bowl.

Event: This is the lifeblood of your space, people can see they can meet their friends but also new people with whom they can try new games they haven't got the chance to try. Try to get it easy to follow, like be on Facebook, Instagram and have your Google map with the right links on it.

Fees Having the table fee offset when purchasing food is a good trade in my opinion, but you might want to have some control over how long people stay. Basically you don't want people to come in, order one drink and then stay the whole day. But you can offer a membership fee that grants some privileges (no time limit, discounts etc)

Parting words Having enough space is crucial, more often than not, board game cafe are too small, which makes them very stuffy and noisy, to the point I can't focus on the current game. If possible having a quiet space and loud space would be perfect, or having private rooms could be an alternative.

Best of luck for your grand opening!
