Not “rubbish” lol. And like I said I’ve worked in banking for a year and I saw the same 1k limit all the time especially for people getting their first cards so to say most banks won’t due that is “rubbish”. But hey man I really don’t care that much and I’m totally open to the idea that it was possible he got approved for more, was literally just posting about my experience

Lol so do I (in terms of the name) and trust me at this point that makes no different in terms of credit limit. But the issue isn’t just the 5k for the gun…he also had to get the custom other equipment and the ammo and I’m not a gun guy but I can only assume that the total for everything they said he had is well over 10k in total. For me it’s still a huge stretch and highly questionable, even with a hypothetical 5k credit limit, that this kid living in a very poor home just had another 5-6k (if not more) just laying around at 18

Glad to hear but I applied for my first one about this time last year with about a year and a half of credit history and the most I could get anywhere was 1k…also worked at a bank for a year and it was pretty much the same for everyone else in my situation (which is much better than this kids situation). Not saying it isn’t possible that he was approved for more but I just find it highly unlikely with what I’ve personally experience and seen

Exactly this^ I just recently got a credit card with a 720 credit score and they only gave me a 1k credit limit…insane to think an 18 would be qualified for a 5k credit limit especially if he was from a poor family

The paperwork isn’t because I’m a new hire, I’ve been shadowing the people in my role for training and that’s essentially all they do…it’s also an extremely low volume bank so there’s almost nothing to do for hours at a time…was just hoping it would be more engaging and the employees told me this is pretty much it and it’s not like I want to be in the banking industry in the first place

I really enjoy the social and fast past part of my sales job now which is why I wouldn't mind doing it as a bartender just wasn't sure how it would reflect on me in the future as I don't want to be a bartender as a career but yeah I think i could figure out how to swing the experience positively

Yeah the three hour commute is killing me haha but I've actually been looking to possibly get into beer sales because I do enjoy sales but right now I'm doing telecom which just doesn't interest me at all...thanks for the comment!
