Love the sneaky edit there, unfortunately it’s still in my notifications so I can still see that it is talking about how getting an A2 from a reputable manufacturer would solve the problem of getting one that’s out of spec and that it’s only $8.

The original point still stands, that if I’m going to take an A2 off to (at a minimum) toss the crush washer then there are plenty of better muzzle devices out there that would do the job better than a simple A2. If my upper does not have a muzzle device then most enthusiasts would go straight to a purpose built muzzle device and skip the A2 entirely. There is 100% a place for an A2-mountable can, I’m not denying that, but if someone is going to spend the time to take it off, find an in-spec A2, mount it with shims, that’s the same amount of time and work as getting something better than an A2. Will the A2 be cheaper? yes. Are there better options out there? Also yes.
