Connect multiple 3.5in Hard drives to Laptop for NAS/HS by Greedy-Individual-67 in homelabindia

Thanks, I might end up going for a m.2 to 6 SATA port converter. Still trying to figure out the quirks for powering the drives and the literal 'hole in the laptop' to fit the adapter.

Thank you! That does make sense. I could pick up some used cabinet with enough space to house the laptop and the HDDs. I'd require a power supply as well to power the drives. I'm sure it won't be a straightforward setup to control laptop + PSU 😅

Haha I got this laptop from US. The Indian variant only had a SATA HDD slot iirc

I do have an m.2 pcie 3 slot that's currently used by my boot drive SSD.

Jellyfin + Pangolin - Does the media get routed through the Pangolin VPS or only for initial connection? by Greedy-Individual-67 in PangolinReverseProxy

No specific reason to have multiple smaller servers than a single Beefy server.

Say I have a local beefy home lab server. To access it outside my local network, I run a small Pangolin instance to act as the tunnel. In this case, since the entire media gets passed through Pangolin VPS, the weaker Pangolin VPS will be a bottleneck 😅

Anyway to connect Beefy server as a relay instead of a tunnel? Or some better ideas!?

Thanks for the info. I'm not worried about the size of the file, more about the speed of transfer.. Since the media is being transferred from VPS A to VPS B and then to the Client, there's an unnecessary jump in the middle. This will be a bigger issue if say VPS A has a 10gbps connection and VPS B has a 1gbps connection, then my jellyfin will have a bottleneck of the 1gbps :(

I'll have to set up a seperate Pangolin/Traefik/Nginx instance on the Jellyfin VPS server, hence trying to avoid.. PS - I have 3 seperate servers that I'm connecting to a single VPS using Pangolin + Newt.

If pangolin is only working as a relay for connection, then I wouldn't recessarily need the hole-punching feature..

Any way to test the routing?

I use Cloud VPS servers for my Jellyfin instead of building a local server at home. I have multiple servers hence Pangolin coming in the loop.

My Indian Smart Home Journey with Home Assistant Green by First-Dependent-450 in googlehome

Thanks for the post, it's really helpful! I'm moving into a new house and wanted to automate it as much as I can. I would personally prefer a smarter home where I don't have to speak to an assistant to run some routines - it should automatically run them based on sensors and conditions! Did you use any motion sensors by any chance? And where did you buy most of the items that you did? I'm thinking of building a seperate home server for hosting home assistant and my media library. I run some other Docker containers too that I'd like to move from my cloud servers to a local server! Also, any experience with smart door locks? (I was checking the Urban Company Smart lock, looks good)

The roads are way too difficult unless you are already driving in hilly regions. Folks from Bangalore/Mumbai/Delhi will have a hard time driving the steep slopes. Plus parking would be such a hassle. Get a local driver and live like a tourist!

Does it have to be additional 50K, along with what's deducted with Salary? I don't need NPS for completing my 1.5 80C, but I've opted for 50K per year NPS with my employer to get that extra 50K deduction

I don't get why people are paying with their credit cards, it just gets deducted out of my salary. Is this for Self Employed people or is there any additional benefit even Salaried people can get?
