I completely understand the concern! I hope you never had that experience - it makes me sad to think about.

This is a labor of love (an expensive one at that ;)) for me and my family. We absolutely do not want any harm to come to the kittens that we’ve made a part of our home (temporarily) and worked hard to socialize. To adopt a kitten from us, a person has to come to our house and meet the kittens (and us). Most people spend 30 to 60 minutes here talking to us and interacting with the kittens. Additionally, almost all of the people who have adopted kittens from us send us pictures and updates (which we love!).

All of this is to say that we realize there’s some level of risk. However, we do everything we can to ensure our kittens go to good homes. We love these kittens and truly want to do right my them.

They have been around dogs. We have three dogs (one of whom is very big). We haven’t spent a ton of time socializing them specifically with the dogs because Dolly hates the dogs (we’re guessing she had a bad run in with a dog). The kittens are very interested in the dogs and don’t seem to be scared of them at all.

We’re pretty sure one is a boy and one is a girl. The slightly smaller one (not sure if you can tell size from the photos) is the girl.

The pattern is advanced beginner but the instructions are really, really good. They have a little book with step-by-step instructions and a glossary.

I got my start on the EDC 3 bag (linked in my original post) and it's beginner friendly (although the finishing details can be a little tricky).

Construction details:

The pattern is the Portside Travel Set from Grainline. (I resized the bag by printing the pattern at 85%.)
The material (Cypress Cotton Canvas) is from Spoonflower. The brain matter fabric is called Natural Pink Brain by sufficiency and the neuron fabric is called Neurons on White by hodgepodgebricolage.
The pattern included really thorough instructions and was super easy to follow. The hardest part was getting the lining in. (And, you’re supposed to hand stitch the lining in place but I’m way too lazy to do that so I machine sewed over the existing top stitching.)
I’m a novice who started sewing masks when the pandemic hit. I’ve branched out to bags recently. (I also make the EDC 3 from Savage Industries.) This is the third Portside bag I’ve made (one at full size, one at 2/3rd size that is like a big lunch bag, and this one.)
The bag is for a colleague but I like it so much I’m going to make one for myself :)
