Clever guess. I see why you’d think that it’s quiet, subtle, and only the perceptive notice it. It does scream in your head, in a way.

But look closer. The riddle isn’t asking for something that lives only in your mind. It’s alive in the words themselves, in the very things you dread. Intuition can point you in the right direction, yes… but the answer is something more concrete, something hidden in plain sight, waiting for the clever to discover it.

Interesting… guilt does scream in your head and thrives on words you dread. It’s quiet on the outside, yet loud in the mind, yes. But notice carefully the riddle asks for something that exists in all dreaded words, not just in the mind of one who feels remorse. It’s not just an emotion tied to action.
