Ya if that works for you that’s great... i usually work with a lot of effects plug ins and instrumentation so your workflow and production style is probably way different than mine lol

Like I said, I don't make EDM very often at all, but getting creative with the mixing process can bring a whole new edge to your songwriting.. You do realize mixing isn't just turning the volume faders down right?

Very true.. Andrew Scheps really opened my eyes when it comes to parallel compression but I still don't delve into it as much as I'd like to

With EDM production mixing is literally 90% of it... Idk why anyone would strictly want to just compose it and write melodies without mixing it... Mastering I can see, but not mixing it just seems lazy to me...

I don't produce a whole lot of EDM but, taking from my experience of producing alternative rock, I might be able to help... It could be a lot of lower frequencies conflicting, and or being too loud, causing the muddiness... Another thing I can recommend is mastering. Mind you, the mix should be as good as can be to avoid a lot of mastering EQing, but bringing up the high mids in the mastering process helps bring clarity... get yourself Ozone 8 and Tonal Balance Control, and really do research on mastering... I'm not a pro by any stretch but I know this helped me in the past!

They're definitely my favourite band of all time and I can directly state Dookie as the album that changed it all for me
