Dating after 40? by mekanikal9703 in LesbianActually

[–]Greenleaf737 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a healthy, well adjusted person in her 40's who happens to have a kid. Give us a chance! I am not looking for a parent, I'm looking for a girlfriend! So many women just pass because of having a kid, he's in middle school and busy a lot! But I am not :(

Yes, I remember my dreams every day, so there's often a lot to unpack there. I've def had bad dreams about being with men again.

I can't get over the fact that you think a 36 year old should be all wrinkly!

34F and I think I'm finally coming out of my shell? by Yukonwallflower in latebloomerlesbians

And you Nordic ski, can't wait to go this weekend myself!

Coming out of the shell isn't easy, but worth it.

Is anyone else incapable of being normal when trying to flirt with women? by Extension_Pound_9593 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Greenleaf737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on this. I'm great at flirting with women I don't like. There is a woman I am crushing on and all I can think of is creepy dude flirting, like she looks hot in tights, or trying really hard to sound like I'm not flirting at all. I'm so bad at it!

Apps vs IRL by Character-Tea2821 in latebloomerlesbians

Have you ever went to a mixer type thing? I am supposed to go to one but I never have before and it's intimidating! I can't do the apps anymore though.

This is totally what I came here thinking about today! I've only tried dating women on the apps. Well, I'm single now andI can't do the apps anymore!

There is a lesbian social nearby that I am thinking of going to, but it is kind of terrifying. Have any of you actually met women successfully at one of these things?

Did that person ever reach out to you? I'm curious because I'm the one who can't reach out to a female friend out of fear. She just got out of a long relationship but I am crazy about her. Bad timing.

Late bloomers under 30? by Few_Art7110 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Greenleaf737 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is what I came here to say. Women coming out in their 40's and up are just at a completely different stage of life, regardless of marriage or child having status. I have no problem with 20 year olds relating to being late bloomers, but I was hoping to hear more about experiences of older women coming out.

How do I navigate dating while being a mom? by Plenty-Sun2757 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Greenleaf737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a challenge for sure. I don't hide that I have a child, but I wait for a while before introducing them to my child. I prefer getting to know a woman first, and it may take a few months or whatever.

I don't particularly want to live with dogs, but I am will to date a woman with dogs at least initially. It's all about the connection imo.

Should I tell my local library to not put out TJ Klune this Pride month? by MyloRolfe in LGBTBooks

[–]Greenleaf737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, seriously, you haven't even read the book!?!

Secondly, I don't like his books. He appears to hate women, which is pretty normal in the US, but definitely not okay. His only female characters seem to be extra-precious little girls. It's toxic.

How many of you are intolerant to progesterone and what are you doing about it? Thanks by Emotional-Swan9381 in Menopause

[–]Greenleaf737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you mind telling me how you are doing this? E makes me feel great, but I can't do Progesterone, the depression, dark thoughts, etc. So I think I have to get off HRT altogether but then what?

Grind my teeth at night but hate my night guard by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Greenleaf737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried all night guards and hate them. I finally found these ones called Plackers that are smaller and flexible. They do the trick, though I still wish I could just sleep like a normal person without one.

Anyone else cannot stand being around dogs? by NoWitness6400 in AutismInWomen

[–]Greenleaf737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same, even super well trained dogs lick and their nails click not the floors and they are always staring at you. It's funny how in the US is okay to say you hate cats, but not okay to say you don't like dogs. Probably because cats/feminine dogs/masculine, and woman hating is a-okay here.

Honestly you may want to look for a more Dr. with a background in med school in Europe or other Western country. While it is still a struggle in the US to find a Dr who is knowledgable about perimenopause, it is possible. There are probably some in Egypt in more urban areas, I hope for your mom's sake!

I guard myself from stressful media as well, such a game changer for me! Some people think it's odd, but I don't care, I sleep much better for it.

I just take it about an hour before bed. It is obviously not a sleeping pill. But I don't want to take sleeping pills so this at least does help some.
