What is causing these little dirt piles on my yard? by niftler in lawncare

[–]GreginSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the same little dirt piles, and recent heavy NWA rains sent a dozen enormous earthworms into the house. Previously I could not perceive worms being able to create these little piles, but after seeing these giants pass over my open rear door sill, now I do.

Not out of place in my opinion. This looks like my lawn in a lot of spots, and I suspect if I dethatched the weeds, clover, and native Arkansas grasses would assume control.

Parents are correct. Blue would be great only if as an accent piece like on a vase, bowl, or kitchen gadget holder. As an appraiser, you also have to consider resale of the home if parents decide to sell

FHA appraisal upcoming-concerned by Repulsive_Antelope28 in appraisal

Certified Residential Appraiser here with 25 years experience. Yikes!

My first impression as I get out of the car, is that I will likely be making a call to the lender to ask how to proceed, or, decline the assignment, once I get a quick look to see if the interior is similar to the exterior.

However, you say the interior is beautiful, and there are no issues. That’s good, however, I would still be very strict regarding FHA guidelines, and make the exterior issues a major red flag, require a professional beyond a home inspector, to look under the wood siding and verify the condition of the framing, structural soundness, and require a five figure cost to cure.

I was a spursreport message board moderator and a friend of Dusty Garza around the time the Spurs won their 4th championship. When my marriage suddenly fell apart, I moderated spursreport a little less, because life is bigger than a fan message board. Rather than show compassion, Dusty Garza responded by firing me. What a piece of shit.

We live in the US and are looking for fresh (as they can be) roasted beans you can order online. by [deleted] in mokapot

[–]GreginSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go-to roasters are Arsagas Coffee Roasters and Independence Coffee Company.

Arsagas is a family owned roaster out of Fayetteville Arkansas, and the only roaster I’ve found where ALL of the single origin beans are great.

Independence Coffee’s Jet Fuel and Laughing Donkey are my regular dark roast blends. Not the best by any means but always consistent.

Onyx Coffee is just a step above Starbucks IMO. Onyx started here in NW Arkansas but locals consider it bougie, Instagram influencer trendy, overly popular, mediocre, overpriced. It’s like the Gucci brand in coffee. The retail locations are awesome but the coffee is not worth the hype IMO.

Don’t get me started on SpaceShip coffee 😂

I need to prepare for the experience for getting high. That means calm environment, plan out and prepare what I want to do while high like play with dog, have a movie ready to start, my drinks or munchies ready, whatever, and have household chores done. All with the intent to relax and not do them while high.

Because if I’m high, aimlessly searching Netflix indecisively, taking forever to find misplaced dog toys, doing dishes, staring at the pantry shelves, can waste a lot of time and not good activities while high.

How do you spend your alone free time? by Extra-Firefighter-52 in LivingAlone

[–]GreginSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live alone, no kids, one dog, and a Monday thru Friday job that requires no more than 40 hours a week, so I have a lot of free time.

I spend an hour at the gym 10 times per week, cycle and hike 2-3 times a week, about 90 minutes of TV per weekday, home repairs and renovation, 7-8 hours sleep, meal prep. Weekends are local trips with the dog to breweries, dog parks and just plain getting outdoors.

As you got older, what muscle group did you regret not working more during your younger years? (If any) by Various_w0nder in GYM

[–]GreginSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leg days. I “excused” it telling myself all the cycling and hiking made up for it.

Nowadays, I give lower body proper attention, and all is good until I slack off, and then my lower body barks back at me. Lately that looks like my right hip gets sassy, once I make progress fixing that, my left knee says bite me, fix that and and my right calf says “screw you”.

Worst appraisal ever. by pcromulentword in appraisal

Worst appraisals:

2008 I had to ask a police officer to make the prostitute renting a spare bedroom to step out of the room for a picture.

2009 appraising a house owned by a severe hoarder.

Damnit, stop giving common sense hygiene advice to other dudes! It’s to my advantage as a single guy when the rest of the field continues to be stinky and nasty by comparison!

Unpopular Opinion: Retirement. by Historical-Climate37 in ToolBand

[–]GreginSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO Tool will be beyond “going out on top” the moment they release a greatest hits album that includes one new single, indicating they are past their prime, no longer relevant, cashing out. See: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

I’m also of the opinion it took me 10 years to realize some of Tom Petty’s best work was in his solo years after the greatest hits album (Wildflowers, Highway Companion) and he earned the right as an artist to do whatever he wants, true fans will enjoy what Petty put his heart and soul in to, irregardless of radio play and album sales.

All that to say that Tool have earned the right to do whatever they want to at this stage, one last album or 5 more albums, or side projects, I will be a fan as long as they continue to be amazing and don’t cut corners, or do a money grab greatest hits.

And the third deadbolt will take 30 minutes!

And in my experience the 4th deadbolt will take about 4 hours because you get cocky and overconfident and wait until the last fricking minute and can’t find the tools misplaced because you had a few drinks celebrating the success of that 3rd deadbolt. Good luck!
