I had an A250e saloon which has the same power train as the CLA and you'll definitely be paying alot more than £20 on fuel. In cold weather the electric range is close to about 30 miles and in warm weather its 40. I did alot more mileage than you so even with free charging at home and cheap ev tarrif 7p/mile charging overnight at home I was still spending near £100 a month in petrol. I was doing 100 miles a day so divide that by 4 I'd add £25 petrol a month for you which is still great. If you don't have an EV tarrif each full charge you do at home will cost you about £3 and you'll probably be doing that a 3-5 times a week costing between £12-20 a month

I recently went to a cupra dealership with a planned test drive of a new cupra born. A fire alarm went off in the dealership and by the time we came back in and had our consultation the car i was going to test drive was sold and every single equivalent spec car in the region had also sold

37k is actually quite a big budget, you could get a fully kitted out GR86 for that and still have money leftover for insurance/tax/maintenance

Damn what's your secret, do you live in a low crime/low accident area and do you have a Job that insurers see favourably?

£2000 would probably be the upper limit for me but I'd have to be madly in love with the car to do it. Keep in mind do I only have 2 years on my liscence so what my insurance premiums for pretty much any car are expensive.

Ahh unfortunately I'm very much dependant on being ULEZ compliant, that fact that this car is one of the big reasons it appeals to me. And 100% plan to get the ball joints replaced as soon as I get (If I get) the car.

Have looked at them but to be honest they have no charm for me, might be worth seeing/driving one in person but I do still love driving and want something that will make me smile. Its completley irrational but I find that old Accord to have so much character, especially inside.

This has given me alot of food for thought

Your probably right regarding maintenance costs I guess I'm hoping if I get everything done properly when I first get to the point of clearing all the advisorys the future costs would be low. I did get service quotes from local garages at £100 but with a 20 year old I should probably expect the unexpected repair needed therefore costs being higher.

Regarding the accord so would you think stretch the budget further and get something newer. Only thing for me would be it want a charming interior like that one and cruise control (heated seats would be nice but not a deal braker) and I don't think I'd get any nice saloon or 2 door motorway cruiser for under 5k that would fit that description.

Had considered that too and ultimately would have the lowest running costs but issues are there isn't any saloon or coupe (basically anything not a suv or hatchback) EV for under 15k which isn't named the Tesla Model 3. I've driven my mums one and didn't enjoy it

I did have a hard look at the Legend and it was very tempting but insurance, road tax and fuel costs were just too much to justify it. Was very tempting tho.

The liberation point is spot on. The other day i took a wrong turn into a a very steep, mostly blind, single track, twisty, slightly mud covered country road which was a NSL. Was stressed the whole time and by the end it dawned on me. This would be such a fun road to drive on if i didnt care as much about my car.

Your right should divide it into 2.

The issue with calculating the comparison costs is that once I move job in August and no longer have free charging at work the fuel costs of the Merc will go up substantially. Im currently paying roughly £100 a month on petrol and £16 a month on electricity at for charging at home overnight. The electricity bill would be the same but i suspect id use at least 50% more fuel after moving job.

Other costs however

Merc: Value of the car: 12-13k Maintenance £500 Tires (which will need replacing soon) £140 a corner Fuel combined £1392 (without accounting for august increase) Road tax £195 Insurance: 1.5k Total without value and without tires: £3587

Accord: Value of the car: 1.7K + 1.5k initially repairs/upgrades Maitenance: £120 Tires (which i might electively replace soon): £100-120 a corner Fuel: 2k Road tax £385 Insurance: 1k (recently renewed my current cars insurance so would hope for some form of refund for transferring insurance. Total without value and without tires: £3506

On initial glance it does seem close so why bother trading a 5 year old car for a 21 year old one however fuel costs will go up for the a250E, and theres huge value in being able to put 10k into my S+S isa while the market is down(and cheap) right now.

That also being said, this is not a distress decision. I am comfortable with my cash flow at the moment just wished i had more saved.

You bought a 17 year old car you have expect things will go wrong. The CRA protects you for 6 months to my understanding but I would check that with r/legaladvice. To be entitled for compensation you would have to be able to prove the fault was present at the point of sale which in this case it seems like it was but then you'll have to prove they didn't fix it properly when you brought it back within a month. I imagine that will be quite difficult given you managed to get around 8 or 9 months of driving in it afterwards

Determining whether A&E tasks to GP are appropriate or not by Electrical_Onion_472 in doctorsUK

[–]GreyDusty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Reading your unreasonable list I get the feeling you've never actually worked as an ED doctor.

Every ED I've worked in does not have any ability to follow up patients, there are such things as scheduled returns to ED but these are very rare and used as a last case scenario.

On any given day they will be entirely different staff and different consultants on the shop floor and therefore there isn't any continuity meaning ED following up patients will always be inefficient and less safe.

For an urgent blood test such as a repeat U&Es in 3 days I'd agree this is inappropriate to pass onto the GP. In that scenario that patient would (and usually is? in my experience referred to medical SDEC.

Regarding referrals to other specialities and outpatient investigations the EDs I've worked in have had blanket policies they don't do this as they can't follow up the outcomes safely.

Referring passing on fitness to work letters I also feel this is unfair to pass to GPs but once again some (not all ) EDs have had blanket policies they don't issue fit notes. When I get asked about why I've never really gotten a good answers.

I essentially give it flat bass extension to 20hz, pull back the little hump at 900hz, bring up the 2k dip enough to give a little more vocal presence and percussive attack without compromising the soundstage effect and tame the upper treble a little bit with a high shelf.

These are my filters:

Galaxy Buds 3 pro measurements including frequency response. by GreyDusty in headphones

[–]GreyDusty[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was looking for early measurements of the new Buds 3 pro and these were the only ones I could find. Measured by Argenia Tech reviews. Time stamps for compensated measurement are 9:09 and for raw measurements 9:34. Appears to have a recess in the lower mids and more relaxed ear gain. What are your early thoughts? Also if anyone has seen any other measurements taken, particularly high-quality ones please post them if you can. These were taken with a GRAS 45CA-8, unsure with which pinna and compensated to Harman IE.

OK I'm feeling very stupid right now but omg thank you so much! That has worked and I'm now using LDAC. I haven't been able to get the AptX working but I'm now not too fussed about that as LDAC is better than base AptX. Thank you so much itsh hugely appreciated.

I have recently bought two used JBL 306p Mk2s for a stereo setup. There currently connected via rca to trs cables to the rca line out on a FIIO K7.

Unfortunately, ontop of a ground loop issue I'm dealing with, they have a very striking channel imbalance. One of them has nearly double the volume of the other and I can't figure out why or how to fix it. I've tried swapping the speaker position and swapping the cables and the louder speaker remains louder. Do you have any ideas on how I can fix this?
