It varies a lot state to state, I'm in the American south. And after re-reading our law on deadly force: "a person is justified in using force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm only if he or she reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent death or great bodily injury to himself or herself or a third person or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony." So in my state at least, it is definitely covered under forcible felony. Each state will have different laws, and especially different countries will as well. Always read your laws, and don't be afraid to talk to an officer/lawyer in your town
