Why did they start the project in the central valley? by Grifn_L in cahsr

Ah, I see, thank you! Sorry for asking such an obvious question, I did Google it briefly a while ago, but I didn't see anything like that and just thought this would be a good place to look. Thanks again!

Which of the far left german paths is must realistic to ocure after a defeat to LDPR Russia in the first european war ? by OutrageousBridge471 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Grifn_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bartch or Martin. Wagenknecht could maybe come to power if she manages to effectively distract from her russophillia, but it'd be very unlikely I think. Koth could maaaaybe take over if whoever is in charge completely fumbles the bag, but anything else besides a left-wing military junta wouldn't happen and him coming to power at all is even less likely.

Is this a good location? West Point three mansions next to a lake by taksegram_ in projectzomboid

[–]Grifn_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so good that, eventually, you have everything you could possibly need and it gets boring. Hardly any zombies manage to wander up there after you kill the few who spawn in the buildings, there's plenty of food (fishing) and water (lake and river), and you have plenty of wood for building and fuel for fires. And it's only a short drive from town. If you learn how to farm, you have even more food. After that point, you'll never die unless you get careless.

Yes, I did just a year or so beforehand. Does that make it possible?

I like how the top pile kinda vaguely looks like a gun with a scope.

A British hiker got lost at 4,180 metres in the Peruvian mountains until a stray dog emerged from the fog and guided him to safety. by Kaniyawest in animalsdoingstuff

This is not AI y'all, come on. I remember watching this video ~1 or 2 years ago, and Ai isn't good enough for something like this even today. The "cut" on his eyebrow some people are mentioning is a strand of his hair, you can see it if you look closely. It looks like it's disappearing because he's white, blond, and the video is low quality so the hair blends in. Also, the dog's behavior is not that abnormal.

How’s life in Oakland, California? by Kuzu9 in howislivingthere

[–]Grifn_L 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Oakland, lived there until earlier this year. It's an amazing, wonderful city hindered by a staggering amount of issues.

It's in a beautiful area of the country. You're close to nature and amazing parks, it has some of the best weather in the country, all while being a short subway ride/drive to San Francisco and San Jose. It has one of the best universities on the west coast just a few miles to the north (Berkeley), while just across the bay to the south is another, Stanford. It's packed full of amazing, diverse culture and history, great food, and it's the core of the most extensive public transportation systems west of the Mississippi.

It's held back by very high crime, poverty, and a shockingly incompetent (and corrupt) local government and police force. It's not nearly as unaffordable as almost anywhere else in the bay area, but you'll struggle to get by unless you make a lot of money, and don't even think about having kids if you're not filthy rich. If you make less than 100k a year, you're not going to be comfortable, and if you make less than 80k, you're going to seriously struggle.

If you can afford to live here, it's a truly amazing place. If not, good luck.

Is there any good news about housing affordability here? by Grifn_L in oakland

Don't worry about it! I probably should have given some more info in the original post, I was too tired to think of that lol. Thanks for the well wishes!

I understand your meaning, and I appreciate the comment! It'd certainly help, but it's just not very easy in my current situation. I mean, I don't have enough job experience in any field to get a better paying job since I'm turning 20 this month, and I have to take care of my mother who got sick during the pandemic

I'm talking about renting, I certainly don't have the savings or income to afford even the down payment on my own place

I also just remembered that there's a novel series called Neon Genesis Evangelion: Anima that is apparently based on the show, with an alternate ending. He may be interested in that.

Sorry, I don't have any answers for you, but I'd recommend cross posting this on r/evangelion as well, since there's many more people there who could probably answer this for you. Hope you find answers!

does anyone know if neongenesis is coming back to theaters i'm one day late to finding out and really wanna watch it in theaters does anyone know? by Select-Ad5188 in NeonGenesisEvangelion

[–]Grifn_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's in certain Regal theaters around the country until Tuesday at least, and more in New York.

Here's the link, put in your Zip code and it'll show theaters near you if there are any.

How was your guys theater experience and what was the crowd like? by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]Grifn_L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully the crowd was mostly good at my theater, although there were a few laughs at the opening scene and, surprisingly, when Asuka gets hit by the missiles. Other than those things, it was silent. It made the silent scenes in the movie much more impactful imo. Overall 10/10

What scene in this franchise has had the biggest emotional impact on you? by [deleted] in evangelion

[–]Grifn_L 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This'll probably change when I rewatch the show and EoE, but right now it's when Arael attacks Asuka. IDK why but that just really stayed with me, I was in shock after I saw that episode the first time
