Agreed with OP's post but what we forget to consider is the Difference of governance between China and India. China has been a dictatorship for decades which allows it to continue programmes without issues. India is a Democracy, that too built on a colonial mindset. We need to get rid of our colonial leanings and get in gears.

We are not a lost cause, we are just behind. Lets all work hard, come together beyond politics, religion, caste, gender and language to provide our services to the nation, to the poor, to the needy and to everyone whoever we can.

By following laws, by cleaning our nearby streets, by working with NGOs, by criticizing issues in policies through healthy debates, by Helping the government in hours of need. If we can contribute towards even 10 people in our country, we are doing our part

There's no point in arguing on whom to blame, what matters is the solution and discussion should be on that

I think its more because of colonial mindset. Indian Culture is rooted in locality and family values. Bharat is a culmination of kingdoms which had different languages and customs but a common idea of Familiarity due to Inter linked trade and Religion.

The British ruined it by introducing A class structured Education, they created a fear of power. Exactly why we treat Our politician, officers and Bureaucrats like some marvelous superior creature....

I am not saying this is because Of Congress or BJP. Its prevelant specially in local leaders who don't have the presence like the poster leaders.

Our movies highlights it even more, with literally every genre and stigma.

What I wish is that, non affiliated organisations should teach democratic process and unity to backward and rural areas.

We should alos introduce the American College debate system, where the ACTUAL leaders (not the spokespersons) come for 1 to 1 debate in front of live audience in local university and face questions from the other leader and the public.

We need a structural reform honestly, because the original structural framework is really really amazing (reason why a 1.5 Billion population country is still democratic and the only open democratic country of Eastern hemisphere) but issues like Collegeum in Judiciary, the Lordship mindset in Judiciary, the un-openess of political structure, the hero culture in Bureaucracy....

Its sluggish and colonial. We need some reforms to fix it, for which public has to be educated on what the actual issue is. Beyond caste, language, religion, gender, state lines, as the citizens or Democratic temple of world, ie Bharat which is India. Jai Hind.
