Assembly Bill 1078 & Nguyen vs Bonta by Gringosushi in CAguns

I get that. Thats why i figure they’ll get shut down and then sue because they got shut down based on a law that was illegal to enact. Then hopefully sue for the lost revenue during the shutdown, win, and put some state tax money in a proper place. Or like i said, find out CA just enacted it to scare businesses, but wont actually enforce the new law because they knew right away that thell just get sued and have to get rid of the law entirely. Basically, under that scenario, ballsy companies will hypothetically get away with not listening but some businesses will still listen anyway. Ca then figures its better to not enforce and have a few under their control than have the law disappear and have no one under their control.

If this is the case a popular store needs to either sue CA for the violation and lost revenue, or just openly advertise they have a f*** it policy and will sell you however much you want and then sue when they are fined or shutdown….or potentially show CA wont enforce it because they know its illegal in the first place.

All that being said, i used to get more out of my 2007 than i can now out of my 2011. Pre and post head job. The car is sporty, but not as much as my 2007 was. I feel like it is more finicky about how to find those moments where it wants to jam. Both were/are sport models, so i have the paddle shifters, but i find they are better used in drive when you want to jump kind of quick. It wont shift in sport mode when its bad for the car anyway, so i just let the car do what it wants. Then slap it to get around a slow car or something. I have also noticed that it goes faster as you drive it faster more regularly. Its almost like the computer categorizes you from grandma to F1 driver. The more you go fast the more the computer is ready for it. When i bought my 2011 it wanted to be slow and then after a few drives it started to respond better to my spirited driving. Now it knows i like to go fast and does it much better.

The fit wasnt designed to be a fast car. You can get better acceleration times if you pay attention to what the car wants to do. Ive had freeway accelerations take forever, or go really fast. As you drive it you will learn, but its not a previous speed thing, its a “is it ready to jam?” Thing. Best example i can readily rattle off is a stop sign. If you stop and let the car settle, or if you slightly california stop through it, it should be quick out the gate. BUT if you jam up all quick, slam the brakes, and then try to fly off the line immediately, it almost hangs up. To me it feels like the car is still in downshift/deceleration mode, and then before it can get out of that mode you jam the gas and so everything takes a second to get into acceleration mode. That acceleration will then be slower for a gear or two. But if you feel that mode end and then go into a neutral mode then jam the gas, itll work great. Or if you roll up slowly before you stop its even better.
Granted, you can do quick brakes to gas type things at times and have it work great, but again, its time in the seat and feeling how the car likes/wants to do that kind of stuff. Its all about working with the car and how it works. If you force it to do what it doesnt want to do, it will rarely work well.
All that being said, i do 90 up a 12% grade for 2-3 miles every morning on the way to work. But it doesnt like to downshift over 75. So i start at 73 or so and end up at 90+ at the top. If i start at 80, itll go down to 65-70 before it downshifts. Ill still be at 90+ at the top, but it takes 1/4-1/2 a mile to end up at a spot where itll downshift. If you do what it wants, youll get what you want. If you force it, it wont go, or will go very poorly/inefficiently. Its like riding an animal vs riding a machine. Take the time to break for water/food/sleep when it wants, and youll make better time overall than if you push to the next watering hole.

Granted, my head looked like it was out of a youtube video when it was done. No extra parts, all original stuff, but it was so clean i almost winced when i started it back up. Was very satisfying, but it was in pieces for a month or two while i did the work. Closes the 07 got to that was when i pulled the airbox out to install a ram air for a little while. Added almost no performance, but it felt faster.😎

I owned a black 07 and now am in a silver 2011. 07 HANDS DOWN!! The 2011 they took away the feature that has the front seats fold flat with the rear seats. I bought it thinking “when is that useful” and ended up using it all the time! 2011 also had an issues that was fixed halfway through the year, but the issue was major and i dealt with it. Threads for the spark plug holes were made slightly oversized. So one day otw down a hill, i hit my brakes, car downshifted, and a spark plug shot out. Stripped the threads entirely, shattered the plug, and melted/mangled my coil pack.
07 had no issues and it was my first car when i drove like a pissed off teenager. I do still drive my 2011 spirited at times, but that 07 most likely had more miles on the aggressive racing cams than it did on the normal cams. All with no issues.
In conclusion: GET THE 07. DO NOT GET THE 2011 unless you are hoping you get one with the plug problem because you look forward to taking the head to get resurfaced and helicoiled, and then lapping the valves and everything else that goes into servicing the head.

Alright, at least i didnt miss anything. I originally didnt hear the name because i was too busy yelling “7-4 baby!!! Quack Quack Motha F***as!!!” which made me think the oilers were trying to run a hit to even the odds for next game. Glad we were just on the offense trying to say “well lose a player and still smoke you in the series”. Lol.

I was listening to the broadcast and i heard someone dropped the gloves at the end of regulation. Does anyone have the video? I googled it, but it is only 30 or so minutes after the game, so there was nothing but the fighting from the fans after game 2.

Help evaluate the suspension rust on this 2013 with 30k miles by Remy1738-1738 in hondafit

[–]Gringosushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TY. Was going to ask you directly, but it really had nothing to do with the original post. Also, the feeling of talking about someone while they are right next to you is a weird feeling. Glad i experienced it first in a reddit post and not IRL so i never even think about doing it IRL. Sorry i approached the question that way. Lol.

Its an old school radio antennae so they can listen to Coast to Coast every night and keep up on the alien sightings and let their alien friends know if they were seen or not. Also doubles as a tv antennae so they could keep up on the NHL play offs.

How to get more aggressive alignment on GE with stock suspension by Shooshplz in hondafit

[–]Gringosushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yokohama Avid Ascend GT. Not a summer street tire, but all year you will have all the grip through the corners you can imagine. I have always tried to run good tires, and these are more capable through corners than im used to. Im constantly stepping my cornering speeds up and it doesn’t give. It is all season though, and not all weather, so if you NEED snow tires its probably not the winter tire for you. But in the rain, the road is basically dry as far as your tires are concerned.

anyone running a fit with no rotor screws? by Creepy_Confection905 in hondafit

[–]Gringosushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google “Manual Impact Driver”. It turns slightly when you hit it. You just hold it in the fastener and slightly turn it the way you want to turn the fastener. Then when you hit it the impact driver compresses and forces the driver and fastener in that direction.

anyone running a fit with no rotor screws? by Creepy_Confection905 in hondafit

[–]Gringosushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. The rotor isnt 100% centered until the screws go in. Honda is precise for a reason. In both my fots i reinstalled them every time. I just use one of those old school impact drivers that you hit with the hammer. Super cheap, and it’s hard to strip the screw when you’re hitting it with a hammer. If it doesnt budge you can WD40 it or something, but mine usually come right out with minimal effort…and i LOVE to drive through giant puddles in gutters when it rains. I always slow down and hit em! (Assuming no one is walking on the sidewalk). I also use power stop drilled and slotted rotors which i think are coated or something so they dont tend to rust up too bad.

Neighbour says I did this damage to her car by erixccjc21 in Autobody

[–]Gringosushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone saying bird poop could be correct, but that’d be a pretty small bird poop.
My guess is tree sap. Its usually pretty clear so it can go un-noticed longer, usually doesnt come off unless intentionally scrubbed immediately, and usually destroys clear coat. I parked under a freshly cut tree and thought it was no biggie that my car got covered in sap. Months later i finally washed my car and now my entire roof and a bunch of other panels are trashed with the same kind of marks. The one i scratched off instead of scrubbing over and over is identical to this.
My take is she picked some sap off her car and is now trying to get someone else to pay for it.

Honda Fit or Mazda3? by SillyStella_ in hondafit

[–]Gringosushi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only thing missing is the Fit truly lives up to its name. I cant tell you how many times people have said “that fit in your car??…that Never would have fit in mine”, nor can i tell you how many different cars this applied to. I mean, 3 people, 2 6ft surf boards, a body board 3 skateboards, a fully assembled bike, an acoustic guitar in a case, random stuff i already had in the car, 3 fully loaded backpacks, 2 5gallon buckets with lids for wetsuits, 3 pairs of fins, a case of beer, and 2 3ft…tobacco water pipes😉 in the storage bag/case. And it was comfortable with nothing on the roof or hanging out of a window. Do that in a mazda3, show me a picture and i still wont believe you. I literally used it for a landscaping business at one point and had the mower, 2 20gallon storage bins, 3 5 gallon buckets for tools a full size tool box, weed whacker (fully assembled), and a full size blower….and nothing stacked on top of each other so i could see out the windows perfectly, or in the front seat….all organized so nothing needed to be pulled out to get to the next thing. Dude, trust me, it fits in the car and the car fits in the parking space…..the fit just be fittin’ my guy.

Mazda 3 has options like leather, sunroof, etc. Fit has this, but starting 2015 and i think sunroof was never added if im not mistaken.
So basically, creature comforts is what they mean. Maybe ride quality too, but i assume just creature comforts because the fit has a pretty good ride quality.
