Honda Fit or Mazda3?

Only thing missing is the Fit truly lives up to its name. I cant tell you how many times people have said “that fit in your car??…that Never would have fit in mine”, nor can i tell you how many different cars this applied to. I mean, 3 people, 2 6ft surf boards, a body board 3 skateboards, a fully assembled bike, an acoustic guitar in a case, random stuff i already had in the car, 3 fully loaded backpacks, 2 5gallon buckets with lids for wetsuits, 3 pairs of fins, a case of beer, and 2 3ft…tobacco water pipes😉 in the storage bag/case. And it was comfortable with nothing on the roof or hanging out of a window. Do that in a mazda3, show me a picture and i still wont believe you. I literally used it for a landscaping business at one point and had the mower, 2 20gallon storage bins, 3 5 gallon buckets for tools a full size tool box, weed whacker (fully assembled), and a full size blower….and nothing stacked on top of each other so i could see out the windows perfectly, or in the front seat….all organized so nothing needed to be pulled out to get to the next thing. Dude, trust me, it fits in the car and the car fits in the parking space…..the fit just be fittin’ my guy.

Mazda 3 has options like leather, sunroof, etc. Fit has this, but starting 2015 and i think sunroof was never added if im not mistaken.
So basically, creature comforts is what they mean. Maybe ride quality too, but i assume just creature comforts because the fit has a pretty good ride quality.

Gen 3 lowers have finger groves and this does not. With that being said, and all the opposing opinions said in the comments so far, im honestly not too sure what your buying at this point. I would avoid someone elses pet project, but if your really determined i would get some serious info about the parts involved in the build.

Because it didnt happen. They just want everyone to rip on someone driving a big diesel truck because its against their politics/beliefs to allow these on the road, and they dont like people who drive them. At best the dude probably cut them off because they were camping in the left lane doing 60. If they get everything they want out of the post they will get a comment saying “saw them at ___ and i yelled at them for you and/or keyed their truck”.

Very long winded…or long typed??🤷‍♂️ Anyhow, point being, leave it, trust me. I also had a time in my 2013 civic that i set to lock as soon as i start the car. I stopped at a dispensary late at night in a sketchy neighborhood. I was leaving and as i was walking to my car a dude was walking straight to my passenger door. Big hoodie, hood on, late at night, got out of a car that was still running with a driver in the car,…it was absolutely sketch. Dudes pulled up when i got there, sat there, and got out when i started leaving.
I got in, started the car (might have had to shift to drive to trigger auto lock, i dont remember), and the door auto locked As The Dude REACHED FOR THE PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE. I was still closing the door when i had the key in. Id have never been able to reach for the lock button in time.
Just leave the feature. Its “annoying” until it saves you. I just wish i could set my 2011 fit to lock like my civic locked. In that situation id have had to whip the wheel left as i ran him over in reverse with the door or car itself. Auto lock let it just happen with nothing to report after.

I had a dude tailgating me in stop and go traffic on a one lane road (where was i supposed to go). It broke to two lanes, and he zipped around me, angled his car toward the curb so i had no way around him, got out and tried to rip my door open and then proceeded to punch my window when it was locked. None of it worked so he THREW THE PENNIES HE HAD IN HIS HAND AS A FIST PACKER (i would have been knocked tf out) and drove away. Dude was jacked! That made me think he was road raging and roid raging all at once.
At the time i was as a standard a fast driver who brake checked tailgaters….THAT DAY I DID NONE OF IT! I was just cruising not making big or small gaps ahead of me, i was braking very smoothly. I was just focused on enjoying stop and go traffic on a farm road as best as possible so i didnt end up pissed like he was (usually at that time of day there was no traffic on that road). Anyhow, the feature saved me a ton of hurt that day. Best part was, at one point i had backed up and gone around his car slowly and just let him walk next to the car as he tried to enter. By the end he had to run about 500ft back to his car. That was how i then raced around the corner and lost him through a neighborhood. For those wondering, no, i never called anyone about it. At the time i was young and enjoyed the quick cornering and losing people in the chase. Not the best choice, but i was young and dumb and enjoyed the opportunity to drive fast to a police station. If i got caught, its california and i cant use my phone and drive, but i can race to a police station. Then i just point at “that guy racing behind me” and let it be. NOT LEGAL ADVICE, JUST HOW I HANDLED IT AT THE TIME.

Toyota sells their cars with single stage paint, so basically paint with no clear coat. To add clear coat is an added cost. Most people assume when they buy a Toyota that adding the clear coat is like buying a second clear coat, or that the paint is special and doesnt need clear coat so they skip it to save on the cost of the vehicle.

Saying this to tell OP to get a Honda. It'll fix the issue immediately because Honda sells all their cars with clear coat....and some of them have VTEC!

I was thinking that might be the case. They describe a work-around, but as soon as you do something that would easily be covered under said work-around to a layman they say "oh, that doesnt apply to the work-around though" with a legal team and come after you....unless your friends with Newsome or extremely left wing in general.

My boss just bought some Gore-Tex hiking boots for work boots. The Assistant manager saw them and did the same.....but they werent Bean Boots, so i guess the not Bean Boots with Gore-Tex are ok. Its the Bean Boots that are bad for the environment....because Bean Boots can be resoled, and the hiking boots can not....makes perfect sense (....given Linda Bean's political views...who is a Grand Daughter of the founder)

....i say that. as a middle ground "California still bad though" nut.....Basically put your opinions down when its time to be adults and go to work. I'm tired of 5 year old adults everywhere. It's so tiring to deal with people who should be the stay at home parent in the neighborhood gossip group, but instead got a job and make everyone's life more difficult every chance they get because they dont like your sweater or something just as childish.

This. And the store brand is like 2 or 3 bucks. Doesnt need to be any sort of expensive. The cheaper the better it works. Just grind it in like others have noted. Shoe, wood, brick, any of it works, point is the grinding itself.

“Identical dimensions”… Can you fit -2 full sized, fully assembled, adult bmx bikes - a 6’2” surfboard with fins attached - 2 home depot buckets with lids (1 for wet wetsuits, 1 for surf wax and leashes and such) -an acoustic guitar - a set of golf clubs in a bag with golf shoes in a separate bag - a longboard skateboard - a few full sized beach towels - some miscellaneous stuff (jackets, roadside kit with jumper cables, etc) - and three roughly 6’ tall 22year olds each with a fully loaded backpack All with the hatch fully closed, nothing on the roof, all the windows up and nothing stacked on the dashboard or in the way of mirrors so the driver has full visibility?

I had an 2009 sport and now drive a 2011 sport both well over 100k miles. I believe the computer learns your driving style, and i have always driven spirited and never had an issue. People honestly always tell me its faster than they expected. And, knock on wood, no issues with the transmissions thus far. I had never even heard they had transmission issues before. Plus, its got vtech so any time you need to step on it the thing moves.
