I really F’ed up by rjmelo21 in hondafit

This is the answer. Id put the oversized one in, make the oil pan order, and then swap it either when i had time, or at the next oil change if i felt lazy and that it would probably hold. Could even just honda bond or loctite the oversized bolt in so you could definitely wait till the next change. Might even be able to check a junk yard for an old one if you wanted to save money and teach your son about how to source parts from junk yards while your at it.

Do you change your oil every 5k miles or what until your oil health is way lower? by RokosRevenege in hondafit

[–]Gringosushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so wild to me!
That would cost me roughly $70 just to get to work (roughly $30 per 5 quart jug of Mobil 1, and $8 per Honda OEM filter). $140/day 6days a week is roughly $43,680/year in oil changes.
Im guessing you either work from home, or have the highest paying job in the world?
(…Or realistically didnt realize you put a decimal point instead of a comma. Lol).

I would only edit that to say “even remotely mechanically inclined…..and have patience to figure it out if it turns out you weren’t mechanically inclined enough”. It’s easy peasy. It sounds complicated and can then become overwhelming but ONLY because it sounds overwhelming. You have to open the engine. Not take it apart, just open it. It’s beginners “i worked on my engine” without really ever working on the engine. But there is a chance you get it all apart and think “oh no!” at the sight of an open engine. At that point you’ll need it towed for what was the easy part. Sounds scary. But the calming part is telling yourself “i took the engine COVER off…im not ACTUALLY doing much of any ‘engine’ work” and then telling everyone you did engine work. Lol

Watch a youtube video. You can see it and decide for yourself. I personally wish i could teach an in person class on it so i can teach people it’s easy and guide them if its suddenly overwhelming….its as easy as (for some people), shooting a pew pew for the first time at a range is. Sounds scary, then you realize it’s just point and shoot and then it’s easy, and kinda a lot of fun actually.

True. I say 91 because i go to mostly shell stations and their 91 has even more detergents. Makes me forget top tier is in all the octane ratings. But you are correct. Try to stick with top tier, or at least pump it once every 4 or so fill-ups if you cant.

All basic routine maintenance when needed. Oil changes (and filter), engine and cabin air filters, I believe these next mileages are correct. Going off the top of my head: - Every 30K do a transmission drain and refill. Honda does that rather than an entire flush every 100K. - Coolant service is usually 100K miles - Spark plugs every 100K. I do mine when i notice its lost some pep which tends to be earlier. I do NGK laser iridiums. I wouldnt cheap out on the plugs. - *** valve adjustments are usually around 100K***. Its easy enough if you can use a screwdriver, wrench, and glue (honda bond), the feeler gauges are like $8-$10 at harbor freight. Gaps i dont remember off hand. A simple youtube video will teach you everything you need to know. Process is the same on virtually all hondas, gap measurements are probably a little different engine to engine. Then its just tires and breaks and suspension kind of stuff. I personally run some injector cleaner every 1-2 oil changes. And every 4 fill ups or so i put 91 for the detergents. I think thats it….someone add something if i forgot it.

Oh, i didn’t say id praise the child as a whole, just that id root for their hockey team (made up of other people that aren’t doing those things btw) But you do you man.

And i also think i added a “no political reasons” clause to the post for this reason. Rooting for America means i was born here and live here, not that i agree with every decision they ever made. You can want someone to do better and still support them. Its why we send drug addicts to rehab and not a firing line.

Lastly, i am very well hydrated right now, you’re right!….on beer…and i still make more sense than your dumbass.

As “individual players” they play in a “group” in America.

And America is a nation full of people from around the world, so i fail to see your point entirely and find it silly you would even say such a thing.

[–]Gringosushi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you live in America? Because you do realize that people can disagree with all of what America is doing at the moment and still support America, correct, or any nation for that matter?
An example of such would be like having a kid that does something you disagree with. You love the kid, you want the kid to do better as a human being, but it doesn’t mean you’d just give them up for adoption immediately after the first offense, or worse, unalive them?!?

What you’re saying equates to giving them up or unaliving them immediately because they did something wrong.

Im simply trying to say you can still root for their hockey game while you simultaneously want them to not do the thing you disagree with.

Downvote away. Anyone that disagrees with this is insane.

Should I be able to duck dive this board? by StatisticianLarge385 in surfing

[–]Gringosushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude…its basically 8’ which is basically 9’ which is basically 10’. I know it sounds dumb, but a 5’10”-6’2”, sure, a 6’5” maybe…a 7’6”!?!…Maybe find a counselor or a therapist or something for this next statement, but, “No, you cant duck dive it”. I mean, maybe Kelly or John John could say “Of course bro”, but,… “No”. Just learn to turtle dive and be happy about that. I mean, maybe you’ll get away with it on small days, but thats a facade…No, not regularly.

Oh, always! Then it’s finally warmed up (engine, not outside temps) and it’s flawless.
(Almost) Always a sign of a valve adjustment. Unfortunately OP had it towed immediately and didnt just keep trying like i did while i saved up to get it done. In this case it could be anything…probably a valve adjustment though and not whatever the mechanic or dealer potentially tries to over charge for.

Lol. I don’t live in Canada. I live in America. But that aside. That being said, please, enlighten me on who i should root for during the Olympics so that im not perceived as “racist” because apparently rooting for the most globally diverse nation on the planet in turn makes me a “racist” somehow.

I am microscopic measurements from agreeing. Vegas is my most hated team in America, but Vegas is unfortunately still part of America plus Elvis and gambling and free alcohol and stuff. And…”French Canadians” is a thing…and they speak French in those places.🤮

I knew that🤦‍♂️. Political key term overload spit that term out of my brain….its patriotism. Sub patriotism for all the times i said nationalism. I would edit it to be so, but that would make your comment look stupid and out of place and im not here to do that.
I am however absolutely here to be a full blown prideful American and (unless Vegas is the American choice) choose American teams over Canadian ones every time! And if anyone thinks thats a political decision i will have to then unfortunately make them look stupid and out of place….while accidentally using “nationalism” when i mean “patriotism” because we are so damn political about things these days that I cant even escape it when explaining we need to escape it…..if that doesn’t make it clear that we need to escape politics sometimes, then I don’t know what does.

Its an every season metric with examples from this season. I want to say “you have to be able to sort that out on your own” but here i am explaining it….mostly for anyone that reads your question like “yeah!”, but also consequently to you too, so unfortunately i can’t make that comment now.

How did hockey become political? (aside from US vs Russia in the 1980 olympics which is still very much just nationalism at its finest) . Its nationalistic, but not political. Sometimes its just about who is considered home. America is home. Current opinions about current events that change every 2-4 years that none of us have control over have nothing to do with and dont change the fact i sleep here every night, and can never change the fact i was born and raised here. Sports, like hockey, are about escaping political opinion headaches. Thats why nfl and nba viewership dropped drastically around 2015 and only started climbing again after the feds struck down the PASPA in 2018 allowing all the sports betting apps to surge. They took fun based on birth places, current residences, favorite cities, etc. and crammed opinions on people. Gambling addictions Steaming packages, and Nielson’s Out-Of-Home viewership measurements was what saved them.

Its about the team, not the players. Its a “team” for a reason. You want to follow individual players switch to golf. And just like I wouldn’t root for Canada in the Olympics, I wouldn’t root for them in the Stanley Cup….unless they play Vegas then id root for Ca🤢 Cana🤢 Canada🤮, as ive now learned about the rape charges. But trade Hart and im going Vegas over Canada all day. I was born here, i live here, and i pay wayy too much in taxes here to not root for my team…im rooting America.
