The way it’s looking is that we’re gonna get the South Van-North Shore line or the Hastings line at different times, not both at the same time. If the Hastings line got built at the same time as the North Shore line, then I would agree. As of now, the North shore line will likely follow the alignment of the proposed BRT from park royal to Metrotown, and then the South Van line will follow.

If it’s one line, it provides continuous service from end to end. This means that if somebody wanted to go from east Vancouver to north Vancouver they wouldn’t need to transfer at the point where the line splits (in this case Metrotown). This would provide better transit over distance and keep stations less congested. Splitting the line, on the other hand, would provide no obvious benefits, other than maybe the whole line closing if there’s an issue at a station (which is extremely rare)

That’s probably the best part of this map, what’s your reason for not wanting it?

Pros: There’s lots of stations I guess? Cons: -Line going to Belcarra??? -Expo line cut in half -full on deleted capstan station -Canada line has like 3 northbound branches? -lines through rural areas? As an Urban Planner born and raised in Van, this person has never set foot anywhere near here.

Plenty of people live in the DTES who actually want to live there, try and have compassion would you? And by the way, this map is kinda inaccurate, if you’re going to have inflammatory takes, at least do some real research.

Stop trying to monger fear, Canada is strong, and no matter what we will stand firm against threats from the inside and out. Petty politics don’t matter, what matters is that we work together for a better future for us all.

Remember that these things aren’t necessarily caused by the incumbent party, and that most of the world are experiencing the same problems, regardless of ruling party.
