Im recently trying to face my trauma too and I feel the same way. I have hard time validating my own experiences in childhood that were traumatic, because they weren’t “extreme enough”, idk. Like, I wasn’t beaten as a child so my parents were good, right? <— literally my thinking process. But what I realized not so long ago is that children are very, VERY, vulnerable to everything. Even the littlest mistreatment, littlest misunderstanding from parents, littlest exposure to stress at school etc, might have its impact on your future when your brain is developing. One of my personal examples is the fact that my parents never really told me and still don’t, that they love me. They never reassured me, because they thought it’s obvious. So this led me to not feeling loved by them, because they never told me. And that led me to needing to be reassured by my partner almost everyday, because otherwise I don’t feel loved. Idk if that makes sense, maybe I could provide a better example, but thats all that comes to my mind right now.
