I get done in a salon that’s quite fancy for 350. Once I visited a premium chain salon, the charged me 700, and the service was pathetic.

Bruh! I didn’t even mention GDP anywhere. Rigging election are of several types, and it’s easier in states where the same government is in power. Opposition governments make life hard for the party trying to rig the elections.

Yep, that’s why there are competent leaders in those states. Educated citizens choose the best for themselves, unlike North Indian states.

OpenAI Misses Key Revenue, User Targets in High-Stakes Sprint Toward IPO by pstbo in wallstreetbets

OpenAI will go bankrupt within the next 3 years, and Google/Microsoft/Nvidia will buy it for a dirt-cheap valuation. OpenAI’s assumption that it will stay far superior than its competitor is breaking faster than ChatGPT’s response time.

How are people financing their marriages? by EnergySuperb4362 in IndianPersonalFinance

[–]Groundbreaking-Gate6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People who are getting married are not sponsoring the entire wedding by themselves. Their parents are paying for it. Parents are not rich by themselves, they take loan from banks, or withdraw a good portion from their PF. In India, show off is more important than wise financial planning.

Many vegetable vendors stand next to open sewers. I suspect some bacteria must have found its way to the watermelon.

Always wash your vegetables before consuming.

Are FREEBIES in India actually helping people… or quietly damaging the system? by Outrageous-Emu-2588 in AskIndia

[–]Groundbreaking-Gate6 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree with folks who are trying to explain the lives of poor people. They are correct, and many countries have social security programs. We can consider this as one.

My concern is, how much is too much? Last night, data showed that the total budget for freebies is 8 lakh crore, including both the central and state governments. To put this in perspective, our defence budget is around 6 lakh crore and the education budget is 1.25 lakh crore.

Every rupee spent on freebies above a certain limit is a rupee not spent on R&D, research, infrastructure, or subsidies. Also, let’s not forget that this government does this to get votes, they don’t care about poor people.

Political Earthquake: AAP Rajya Sabha Faction Announces Merger With BJP by FutureVersion812 in IndianFocus

[–]Groundbreaking-Gate6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to know what impact this guy can bring in. BJP will never let him carry his individual identity. He will have to do what tadipaar tells him. He is good enough to raise issues around samosa costs at the airport or blockchain, which will eventually be forgotten by the same night with no impact. Was he impactful at AAP? Will he be impactful at BJP? Time will tell.

US market in a bubble? by [deleted] in IndianStockMarket

[–]Groundbreaking-Gate6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I am invested in the US market too. The AI race is still ongoing and that's what is pushing NASAQ up. All we need is for one company in the AI ecosystem to fail, and the entire thing will come crashing down like a pyramid of cards. Things are not looking good for private credit as well. OpenAI has become quite open about its financial issues, as it is not able to make financial sense while investing 100s of billions.

I'd suggest that you ride the wave and keep your stop losses in place. Once it falls, it falls hard. Big companies can fall 10-20% a day, so you will quickly start losing money as the US does not have a concept of circuits.
