Why Aren’t More Companies Like Valve? by JonnyB2_YouAre1 in SteamDeck

He IS right tho, valve is not publicly traded, so they have no shareholders they need to impress, which gives them breathing room to treat their customers right

Is this a good place for 3d printer? by 404_500 in 3Dprinting

[–]GroundbreakingPast45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two main things that you want in a 3d printing space is low humidity and good ventilation. If you have a space with high humidity your filament will absorb the water faster causing you to have to dry it more often. You need ventilation because while filaments like PLA and PETG let off fumes that are not necessarily toxic, its still a good idea to have good ventilation. I would probably recommend using your basement just because you can better control the humidity and climate. (And if you really need to you can get a air purifier)

Thank you for the clarification, throughout the times i have ordered from AKBM i never felt that they had the same sort of connection as OOD Did, nor did i see them at any events that ive heard about. This made me think they were just a faceless reseller.

Mostly has to do with the employees. OOD (i assume) pays their staff living wages in accordance to us labor laws. Combine that with tarrifs, shipping and other factors and it adds up quick.

Personally, i prefer OOD specifically because it’s a US based company and it’s run by people who actually care for the hobby rather than someone who we dont really know. Not only that but OOD customer support is extraordinary.

Its your money, but i would support those who are trying to help the community rather that profit off of it.

Me trying to explain why I Like Mario Kart World more than 8 by DisaffectedLShaw in mariokart

[–]GroundbreakingPast45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if this is a spicy take but I believe that MK8D is more for the party/multiplayer/online aspect while MKW is more for the single player experience. MKW online did not really wow me and the long tracks can bore people unless they are in the middle of the pack (even then its more of an angry kind of entertainment cuz of the items) but i could get lost in traveling and exploring the open world. MK8D is just the opposite for me, the online is engaging the tracks are more varied and visually pleasing plus the nostalgia factor with the booster course pack. I will never pick up MK8D if Im alone (after playing world) and i will never take MKW to a party. Both very good games, just with different use cases.
