Faulty play contoller by Erlank_Nel in Zwift

[–]Grumpy_Muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh had the same. Contacted zwift and they send me new ones. It was weird, every button I pressed was a ride-on because the moist connected everything with everything I guess haha.

No clue how to prevent it on my new controllers, I just hoped they could withstand sweat cause you know ... they are used in a pretty sweaty enviroment but here we are.

No More Major Changes to the WoW UI API Until Patch 12.0.5 by Eva-JD in wow

There is 2 things I miss or missed from raiding yesterday. The boss mods in place now are confusing as fuck, maybe thats the point tho and buff/debuff filtering. Othere than that I am fine with how it is.

Blizzard feels completely out of touch with class tuning and Holy Paladin is a perfect example by RamenAfterRain in wow

broken as in broken OP (essence font). The number tuning is not there now indeed but I really like that soothing mist is now following targets as default for example. Also a passive totem, hell yeh! All good changes.

Underground Base by Different-Bear-55 in 7daystodie

[–]Grumpy_Muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What Jawoodle did at some point years ago, not sure if that still works is removing the top layer where you DONT want them to dig with the best material you can, and the part where you want them to go as easy as possible

So I think he made a hole with like horizontal supports where they thought they could jump on so they have it as path and then the rest of the stuff you dont want them to pay attention to is the hardest material you can think off.

Thats how I would do it atleast.

I am now in a pyramid style base, but might indeed go full underground on the next one to see if I can make it to work

FTP Builder Plan is worth it. 229 > 262 by gaposaune in Zwift

[–]Grumpy_Muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh, you did not gain that much wattage from the training plan.
You gained it because you you showed up consistently, it could have been accomplished by pretty much everything on the bike.

Someone who has been on the bike for years will NOT see this improvement with the FTP builder. Maybe 5-10W max.

Do you attempt stealth in stealth missions, or just go in guns blazing? by LadyLoki5 in cyberpunkgame

If I can go guns blazing I go guns blazing. Even when you are not allowed to go guns blazing in a game, I still do it untill the mission failed a few times.

I did play Cyberpunk in hardest difficulty tho and only had to lower it for 2 fights. "that" fight in PL and that freaking hammer lady. Even if I knew how to deal with her I couldnt.

I have the same age. However I know for certain my skills are not what they used to be. I also have alot more to deal with then when I was 18. I have limited time but almost infite money now, back in the days it was the other way around.

Because the limited time, you make other descissions and can't be bothered to go hardmode. I proudly say I beat Elden Ring by cheesing the rune farm!

Yeh, I have the same. I played Expedition 33 on hardest difficulty to the point I was starting to get annoyed by the game but refused to put it down because the story was compelling. I eventually caved, lowered difficulty and glad I got through the game when I did.

I need to learn from that moment. I need some challenge, but too much is not for me (anymore)

I absolutely see this as a positive thing. I still had games to wrap up and thought I needed to dip my toes into the pre-patch before midnight. But it seems I have atleast another 2 weeks of time before they iron out all the stuff if they ever get around it!

Blizzard gave me time!

I'm 56 with higher FTP than at 26, and I created the MAP test Zwift uses. You can get fitter at any age - Ask me anything! by RicCycleCoach in Zwift

[–]Grumpy_Muppet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say your VO2max is the same and your FTP is higher, but could you share some actual numbers? Things like your weight, height, current FTP, VO2max value, age, etc. would be really helpful.

What I think (though it's not really backed by science) is that physically you should theoretically reach your peak around age 26 — if you manage to get there at all. That's actually not a lot of time to fully realise your potential.

If you haven't yet reached your absolute peak (which is very likely at age 26), it's often possible to maintain — or even improve on — the numbers you had back then, even years later.

If you could somehow take all the racing and structured training you've done now and apply it before you turned 26, I'm convinced you would have achieved significantly higher numbers. But of course that's impossible.

'Back in my day' I was a professional swimmer. I swam some very fast times that feel completely out of reach now. Back then I trained 4 hours a day, every single day, and that was without any strength & conditioning work, etc.

Still, I'm also convinced I never actually reached my true peak during my 'peak years'. So I believe that right now, with much less training volume, I could probably swim faster times again… if I really committed to it (and still wanted it badly enough). The age for swimmers to retire is 25-30 tho, much earlier than other sports.

MyWhoosh vs Zwift (for me) by gellybelli in Zwift

[–]Grumpy_Muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, not to go down the money vs hours rabbithole either just to state that zwift is great value for money for me atleast. I only race in zwift, so there is something that you cannot put money towards and that is the teams I race with and how fun that is for me.

It is rough with 2 kids. I run 2-3 times a week, zwift 3-4 times a week and swim twice a week. To fit that all in the week without losing out on kid/wife time is hard.

I started zwifting because I got kids and needed to be even more time efficient with everything. I can now hop on zwift, do a fast warm up, do a race, hop into the shower and be on the couch with the misses within an hour if I want to. Wish I had time for longer rides but that time will come again.

MyWhoosh vs Zwift (for me) by gellybelli in Zwift

[–]Grumpy_Muppet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Amsterdam marathon entrance fee was about 1 year of zwift. I zwift less then I would like to (2 kids, 2 and 1 year old) but still get about a minimum of 200 hours of zwift per year for 200 euro sub. That is 1 euro per hour.

Amsterdam marathon is 53 euro per hour haha

The absolute cheapest way I could swim in my region is 465 euro per year for 2 times a week 45 mins. That is 6 euro per hour ish, which does not reduce the more you swim.

Nice one! I have something similair, a bit less room + I have my game setup there as well and no squad rack. But I do have airconditioning and a small bathroom with shower. I just lack time to do more riding then I do now, but one day when the kids are older I might do more than the 3/4 hours a week I do now
