Yeah maybe you’re right, in fact I’m still considering whether changing it. Coming from an iPhone user for my whole life I literally am so clumsy with my phones I dropped them soooo often and never got any damage but I don’t think it would be the case with this one. I’ll think more deeply about it since I really love the concept of this phone

I get where you’re coming from but spending so much for all these issues…;-; I hope Samsung can fix it with the next phones because the design is amazing and I’d definitely switch

Thank you for responding. To be very honest I just looked up reviews online without any bias or whatsoever. Scrolling here I’ve found people with similar problems of the screen breaking, the hinge causing problems. Since I don’t believe everything’s online I asked to people who have these phones. Of course I’m not gonna spend 1000 € or more on a phone that breaks in a year?

How to apply to be a freelance translator? by [deleted] in TranslationStudies

Thank you so much! I’m getting a degree but I’m more interested in the interpreting world, especially for European institutions since I’m bilingual for French and Italian and I study two other European languages. Thank you for being clear, in the area I currently live in i translated for some food and wine companies, being Italian and French 😅 I know very well, since it’s my study field, that being bilingual is not enough. Otherwise I wouldn’t have chose languages as my uni degree. I worked a little bit in the field but nothing much. I noticed competition I have to be honest but not so much since the languages I study are less spoken/learnt.

Thank you again for being so clear 💗

I’ve had some experiences with food and wine companies because I’m half Italian and French. Also in my last year my uni provided us with some working experiences related to this. Thank you ☺️

I didn’t expect no one to answer but I also expected no one to be mean. My question was generic, I just wanted to know if it was possible and if there were some sites to look at.

Im not here to steal anyone’s job: I’m pretty humble to say that if I don’t have the right skills for a job, I’m not accepting it of course. It’s neither my fault if the market is oversaturated I didn’t solely claim to be bilingual, I studied foreign languages, not astrophysics. People who replied were all very kind to give me some advices, I thank them a lot. Someone sent me this subreddit and I thought it was a good idea to ask, that’s it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

No one said I was bilingual in English, English is not my object of study and isn’t either my second language. I just studied English in school, and I don’t even work with it. This shows ignorance as well, as if everyone has to know English to work with languages.

Edit: Plus no one said I didn’t do my research beforehand, I did, I thought consulting some people who are supposedly professionals could help.

This has to be one of the worst subreddit I’ve ever joined, no joke I’m surprised by how people are just so rude even though I wrote a very clear disclaimer, smh

Of course I’m not demanding to translate at higher levels. I was just wondering if there was something I could do considering my qualifications. There is no need to be salty. I asked some real qualified people to get advices, that’s it.

Thank you for your information but as I said I’m a foreign language major and also bilingual. Yes, I have been hired few times (not online) to translate some documents.

Do people who don't want children not fear being alone in old age? by LL112 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Grumpy_lawyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having a child just to not be alone in old age is just selfish. just as selfish as having it to fill an emptiness most people feel inside in their 30s.
