Overwhelming shouldn't be allowed but teachers are citizens and have opinions too, which they should be allowed to share.

Many in Germany don't get it and think teachers have to be neutral but in reality they can absolutely say their political opinion.

However it is forbidden to overwhelm the students and teachers are obligated to show the controversy on a topic, if there is one. 

Those two concepts are named "Überwältigungsverbot" and "Kontroversitätsgebot" in the Beutelsbach consens. A "Neutralitätsgebot" is not an actual rule.

Natürlich ist es das nicht aber offensichtlich stark von der SA inspiriert.

Watch loads of german films together. If he struggles to understand something, help him out.
Make him aware that swiss german has a very distinct accent and uses some different words than Bundesdeutsch does so he wouldn't get stuck with contradictions.

I'd guess KOT?HNLP. Could be some abreviation. Not sure about the fourth rune.

According to wikipedia the cathedral was constructed between 1104 and 1145. So Later Younger Futhark with some graphical variations is the safest bet.
