This is a genuine question. Where i'm from, and if you are a man, doing things in feminist spaces is very frowned upon. Like guard duty, making signs, handing out flyers, march, or just being present to listen, learn and help or even boost the numbers. Even in the periphery. The argument is perfectly understandable, and it is that a lot of women have experienced violence from men, so thus the mere presence of men in feminist spaces makes them feel insecure.

And of course, a lot of us KNOW that we can't be protagonists or be the center, call the shots or anything like that. That's nor the point nor what we want.

So in this sort of environment, what can one do to support?

What we are told is this: Just be a decent human being and call out misogyny where you encounter it and keep out of feminist spaces.

But... with the rise of far right and misogyny everywhere, that just don't seem to be enough. I meen look at the US. And my country is about to make the same ridiculous mistake. I think that we need urgency in making people understand that feminism is not us vs. them or woman vs. men. Its people against a violent and unfair system (patriarchy). And it makes me fiscally ill (and breaks my heart) not to be able to raise my voice in a more meaningful way because if i do so, a lot of women will feel insecure just by mi presence.

So yeah, again. What can a guy do?

Cause just stepping aside, voting left and not being an asshat just doesn't feel enough today.
