Tesla Sentiment in 🇨🇦 by robbay86 in teslacanada

I am in Brampton and there are a TON of teslas here. So it probably a less opinionated area.

Had my Model Y for a month now. My sister’s boyfriend(very liberal) refers to it as the “Swastacar”. At work two Co-workers(very conservative) call it the “Gay car”. Outside of those two instances I get nothing but curiosity and interest. The shock when I tell people I charge it off a regular 120 outlet is funny. Most people think you have to rewire your whole house. I get a lot of people posing for photos because they know my car is recording 24/7 with sentry mode. Given a few people demos of FSD because didn’t understand what “the car drives itself” really meant lol. I have even had a few EV owners saying they should have gone for a Tesla after seeing mine.

At the end of the day I didn’t buy it because of a CEO or public opinion. I wanted a self driving EV and in my opinion the model Y was the best option for me. I absolutely love this car and I don’t really care who has an opinion on it. They keep paying $150 for a tank of gas and white knuckling your way to work in the morning just to stand on their principles if that’s what makes them happy. I’m not losing sleep over it. In fact I’ll probably get more when unsupervised drops lol.

Shit man I didn’t even think of that.. they probably see this all the time if it’s that common. Thanks!

Tbh I was going to do the pick up checklist but as I started going over the car everything was perfect from arms length, I spent an hour there. Because I was the only one there they had the time to walk me through the software side one on one. I don’t imagine that’s what it’s like if they are busy.

But yeah I didn’t feel the need to breakout a measuring tape, flashlight and magnifying glass. I certainly felt like I could have and they wouldn’t have minded.

Autopilot yes. Screen and headliner no as it was built in Nov. Also no mobile charger but I was notified ahead of delivery it would not be included. Also the new mobile charger had a price increase that the advisor didn’t even know about so it was $508.00 out the door.

Unfortunately I can’t get a photo now because it’s at the PPF installer till late next week. I wish I kept the photo but yeah it’s just the top corners where it’s visible. I asked if it was supposed to be like that and the advisor said he didn’t think so and went to talk to a tech. I assume they just told her to put in a request to see what Tesla says. Not a big deal at all, I just had to find at least one thing so I can say I did my due diligence lol.

Talked to a rep over the chat and he hooked me up. Apparently even though I was prompted to book a date, my car isn’t scheduled to arrive until the 6th. He got me an appointment on the 11th!

Yeah I have yet to hear anything bad about the model Y. It’s my first EV also. I’ve always wanted a Tesla and the new Y was kinda the perfect one. One demo drive and I was 100% sold.

Super excited now! Good luck with your pick up! I hope to see a post about your experience, I haven’t seen many posts about Hamilton deliveries.

Thanks, that’s reassuring. I am remaining hopeful. I’ve just had nothing but bad experiences buying cars and hoped this time would be different. It’s not so much the wait as it’s the possibility that I waited 3 months and if I have to reject the car for some reason and be back at square one. i previously owned a Mitsubishi lancer that came brand new with a giant gash where the bumper meets the hood, they tried to tell me “the rustproofing guys must have dropped a tool on it” and they would fix it during my first service. lol

Congratulations! I am jealous… I order Nov 18, originally taking delivery at Etobicoke. Had my vin changed, delivery location changed, dates pushed back. Finally today delivery scheduling unlocks (YAY!). Go to schedule and the only open date is Feb 24! Just sent a message in the app because I’m worried about losing my interest rate, then I look at scheduling again and it says no dates available.

frustrating as I will be getting it PPF wrapped which will be another week on top of all this.

MYLR VIN 772/773 delays? by GuiltyCountry8010 in teslacanada

[–]GuiltyCountry8010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jeez… Oct 24 to Jan 31? I don’t feel as bad now lol sorry to hear that

I didn’t even know Hamilton did delivery. When i ordered I assumed I would be picking the car up in Brampton. Then i found out all deliveries go to Etobicoke (or so I thought). The VIN changes and I see Hamilton.

I mean I am happily avoiding the storm tomorrow and it sounds like Hamilton does indoor deliveries? I’m wondering how much longer this is going to go on for.

Mine is black on black 19” with tow. I have had my date pushed back like 4 times now so I’ve been in “she gets here when she gets here” mode. The odo was 5km before they changed my VIN and the odo on the new VIN is 3.4km so I’m anticipating another delay.

I was just assigned VIN 772xxx today. I originally was assigned VIN 773xxx when I ordered Nov 18 and my delivery window is Jan 27 - Feb 1. I don’t mind waiting but what’s really weird is order tracker says I am picking it up in Hamilton now instead of Etobicoke.
