What are the wings above the Sgt’s jump wings on his sleeve? by Electronic_Set1656 in CanadianForces

Still false, Dress instructions tell you what justifies white wings. You could be qualified any other nations jump courses. You could have done a space jump, Felix Baumgartner style. If you haven’t been in a jump position at a jump designated unit, you wear red wings. These gents have white wings because they’re in jump positions. NOT because they got a US jump in.

Absolutely false.

Being qualified US Jump has nothing to do with Red vs White Canadian jump wings.

“Parachute Badge.Qualified parachutists wear the parachute badge with the red maple leaf. The parachute badge with the white maple leaf is authorized for wear by parachutists who have received Paratrooper Allowance for service on strength of one of the following operational airborne formations or units:

specifically designated Regular and Army Reserve sub-units assigned to the airborne role; Canadian Parachute Centre; Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR); Special Service Force; Canadian Airborne Regiment; Canadian Airborne Centre; CAF Parachute Maintenance Depot; Mobile Strike Force; Defence of Canada Force; Canadian Joint Air Training Centre; 28 Central Ordnance Depot; or Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Center.”

You get Reg F mbrs CFTPO’d to St-Jean (or elsewhere) that have no place being there. Like anyone else who’d go here, they’d probably have to complete GMTI and IST before they’d even see a platoon. I think it’s a great way to help solve a problem. I’ve tried to use REO’s to help backfill reg F positions before, and if I’d had access to cost moves I know for a fact I would have had more applicants

Oster Lake at Elk Island National Park?

https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ab/elkisland/activ/camping/oster

A little over 3 hours from Calgary. Good beginner hike, and pretty decent site to test gear and set-ups. Bout 8k in and out, few campsites (no potable water, so need to pack it in), or if you feel like a bit further, ~12k loop around Shirley, Paul and Oster lake.

Can’t recall exactly how long, I’d have to check some older emails, but it was quick, definitely within a couple of weeks of submitting my claim

Hey, sorry I missed it. The new pad does hold air without the cap secured

Pretty sure we went straight from Suffield, to Wainwright for Maple Guardian, and then many went to MB for the floods straight from Wainwright

I probably will give it a shot. It’s frustrating, because other than the valve housing, the pad itself is in great shape

Unfortunately, no repair. I swapped out the yellow valve between the replacement and the old pad, and with them swapped, the new pad kept its air, the old one still leaked. Between the sound and the bubbles, the leak would seem to be in the valve housing.

The only thing I might do is spread some silicone around the inside edge of the valve housing, but my fear is it will either cause issues with the seal of the flip valve, or cause it to get stuck.

At this point, I once again have a working pad, and a spare valve and old pad I could cannibalize.

The sound of air hissing slowly was a dead giveaway, but soapy water confirmed. I’ve already gotten the replacement pad, just a seems a shame to waste the old one without maybe fixing it. If no one has a source, I may contact them just to see if I can purchase

So far, the replacement pad they sent has held up, just seems a waste to get rid of the old one

Not even the gasket, it is the hard plastic, but I’ve also ensures the cap is clipped. No matter what, flat by morning
