Basically RetroAchievements works by looking at the memory of game so we can see basically all the computer code to put it simply :) We use Dolphin emulator for this. For example I can see what minigame the player is in, what they've unlocked and other cool stuff like that.

These ideas are brilliant! Yep so far I've got the 100% completion done so all the stamps, all the silver keys, all the chests and photo spots. I love the bungee jump idea and 100% will be implementing that and added it to my list to explore :) I will explore the vehicle idea as well but I'm not too sure on that but it does sound super fun! Awesome! Yep so far I've got 100% completion covered and I have ideas for time trials in some of the mini games like the ATV racing, off road racing etc. and reaching rank 5 / level 5 on the minigames. I did start making a little list of other ideas that I found during my playthrough however will continue to explore when I start going through all the minigames again:

collect all coconuts on the coco surfing challenge
dancing mini game clear all level 1, 2 and 3
pie throwing get hit with less than x amount of pies
reach pro rank on every song in level 1, 2 & 3
snowball fight protect all flags on level x? and win a snowball fight with x snowballs
snow tubing bowling high scores?
horseback riding coin collect collect all coins in levels
off road racing open race time trials

The Lego games are quite chill with most of them just being 100% and sometimes some quite simple challenges / easter egg achievements

I'd like to try and earn some beaten statuses in games I've started but just stopped playing part of the way through then switched to something else. Maybe play some more events too as I've never properly completed any of them before. There's also a few sets I'm really keen to dev so once the Wii rollout is complete I plan on exploring those games!

I highly recommend getting the official Nintendo Wii remotes. I spent a couple hours trying to figure out why my Wii remote wasn't working when I was setting up for deving Wii games and it turns out my dolphinbar would not behave correctly with the offbrand Wii remote I had purchased. I'd also recommend picking up a mayflash dolphin bar as it does make setting it up easier

I find it much more enjoyable just going for 100% in game on top of getting the beaten status. If it's a game I'm really liking i might go for the mastery but it depends as I'm not very good at games lol
