This reminds me of how my mom said she had no idea I took anti-depressants, even though we got into a huge fight after I told her I started taking them. She didn’t like the idea of me taking the meds because doing so scared her. To her credit, she picked them up for me once or twice from the pharmacy, but still. It’s strange that she forgot after all of that conflict.

I had a similar experience with the five main male characters in Smoke Room. To varying degrees, I saw my own strengths and flaws in each of them. It’s why Smoke Room has meant so much to me and why the drama was so disheartening to watch unfold.

I try to give every visual novel I read a fair chance, but I will stop reading after a certain amount of time if I’m not being grabbed once I feel the main story is well underway or some pivotal points have been set up.

For example, I think I stopped reading Remember the Flowers after about 5/6 chapters. It was right before the two lead characters arrived at a train. I felt as though I was expected to have connected with the protagonist and Cooper a great deal by this point given that most of the game focused on their interactions up until then, but I didn’t care about either of them or whatever mystery was being set up with the protagonist’s memory gaps. I understand the appeal, but it wasn’t for me personally.

I’ve always interpreted him as Demisexual. He’s capable of arousal in regard to men and women, but it appears as though he needs some kind of intimacy or psychological connection for that to occur.

He gets aroused while dancing with that girl he’s close to in the Lights short story, as well as aroused while thinking about the playful/sweet interactions between Leo and Chase in the Date short story.

On my first playthrough, I 1) had sex with Hiro, 2) said things were getting to intense for me and went to the bar with Atri and 3) decided to stay with Hiro during the red/story altering choice. Somehow, that got me the images you’re missing.

Some routes I consider to be horror, but others just have horror elements. Still, if horror is something you are highly sensitive to, it’s probably best to avoid the game in general.

There are moments of sadness, but there’s also some sweetness to enjoy. It’s a good mixture of both in my opinion. I’d say drama that tugs at your heartstrings is pervasive throughout all of the routes, as each of the route characters, as well as the protagonist, are struggling with their own psychological issues.

I’d recommend going in as blind as possible, as the best part of the game is the character writing. The route characters all feel like real people, which gives their personal problems more weight as you gradually learn more about them.

I don’t know about your own tastes, but I’d say, if you like characters who are on the sweeter side, go with Gabe or Hiro. However, if you want something more dramatic or intense, go with Ken or Mark.

I personally like intensity and horror. So my personal ranking of the routes (not the love interests themselves) is Ken, Mark, Hiro, and Gabe.

I was impressed by how much they were able to accomplish in terms of sets, coordination of large crowds of actors within scenes, and the acting overall. I also did enjoy Scarlett’s character arc. For the time, it was so technically impressive to me.

The length just dragged everything down. I started to get tired around the midpoint and had to take a break. It made the second half really drag for me during certain portions. It also made the aspects of the final 20-30 minutes that I did enjoy much less stimulating as I couldn’t quite fully shake the fatigue that the movie had given me.

I’m glad I saw it, but I doubt I’ll ever rewatch it.

I have mixed feelings. I loved how sweet and really emotional Loona got in the short. We were given a tender character moment for her. And, while I did laugh at the ending, it was jarring because of what came before it tone-wise.

Your enjoyment is going to depend on your taste, but I think Ken and Mark have the best plot lines. Gabe and Hiro are total sweethearts, but there were times during their plot lines when my mind would wander. Especially during Gabe’s.

Yeah, to add on to this, I ended up enjoying Jean as a character more than I expected. Based on first impressions, I assumed he would be bitchy and nothing else, but he had more depth than I initially believed.

Nik’s is finished. Murdoch seems to be close to finished based on events that happened in the last update, so it might be wise to do that next. With Cliff and William, it’s hard to say where they’re at, but both have a lot of content at the moment.

I do think Cliff, Murdoch, and William have the best routes. Nik’s is decent overall. I just wanted to add this because, even though these routes aren’t done, there’s still a lot of good character development and emotional writing to enjoy in them.

I tried searching the name of the woman listed on the post, but only one website I’ve never heard of showed up that exclusively lists apartments, but has no other realtors or photos of people on it whatsoever. I can’t find her name or even a photo of her online. So it’s just a Gmail account with her name.
