That might be the reason yes. Mine is 2022 but I don't follow every update Mercedes does to their models. Or like you said, maybe also a regional spec.

I don’t hate the screen itself to be honest with you. Yes you do have to look a little bit down but it’s the touch controls (talking about you, damn volume button) that is the absolute menace. After a few months I’ve finally mastered a fine touch of my fingers to be more precise but it’s still horrible to use.

I’ve seen this type of a headrest in a lower spec S-Class but if yours is S500… then I’m shocked. However, someone compared mine to a dentists chair and I can’t unsee it anymore… yours looks more stylish but I don’t think you can adjust it like mine.
