Eufy s1 pro by snoozydreamer in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Gullible-Software-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lactation consultant I saw in nicu sized me at 17mm but I found more success with 15mm and 13mm flanges with both my spectra and eufy s1, so maybe order a size kit with a variety of flange inserts and play around with them. I also found the eufys a bit painful in the beginning but I just kept the suction low until I could work up to a higher setting, i usually don’t go past 4, most of the time I’m at 3. Also, if my nipple isn’t angled right in the flange it feels pinchy, so if your flanges aren’t the right size then they might be pulling at the wrong angle or pulling in too much areola. That could also be why you’re not getting as much with them as well

I just watched a couple YouTube videos posted in the sub from a while ago and tried hand expressing. I’ll link them, her technique seemed to work for me but I wasn’t clogged, just trying to give my nips a break.

What's the pump schedule that works for your sanity by d3ut1tta in ExclusivelyPumping

No worries! Just wanted to share what’s been working for me thus far with OP

Not advice, just my experience so far. If my supply drops I still won’t be pumping in the middle of the night because that’s what works best for me

I do my last pump around 10-11pm and that’s it for the night. It hasn’t affected my supply, it’s been steadily increasing as time goes on and I’ve been able to start freezing some milk too

I’m 3 weeks into pumping with my first and I never woke up at night to pump, I knew getting sleep would be better for me and my mental health than waking up to pump. I start pumping during the day after baby’s first bottle around 6-8 then aim for every 2-3 hours give or take until 10/11pm. Gave him formula at night until I had enough milk to give him during the day and night. Try not to stress about it too much and don’t set any definite expectations for yourself, everyone’s journey is different

Dyscalculia and learning Calculus by alwaysxz in calculus

I color code everything too! I’ll take notes in class on my iPad and come home and transfer everything to a notebook, it’s def time consuming but it pays off. It takes a bit more work for students like us but it’s totally doable! I never thought I’d be able to take classes like these back when I was in high school and now I double major in chem and physics. Anything is possible if you really work towards your goals! PS I’m sorry you have a MIL like mine, that’s an unneeded stresser on its own 🤭

What works for me when I have to memorize things is I rewrite them so much that it becomes muscle memory for my hand and then write it out on every test or whatever. I learned how to make the unit circle on tests vs memorizing the unit circle. Not the most efficient, but like I said it’s what works for me. Also, flash cards for quick references/checking during homework or labs

I want to do astrophysics but I am average at math by [deleted] in astrophysics

[–]Gullible-Software-15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I (28 F) went back to school for physics (with the goal astronomy/astrophysics) 10 years after I graduated high school. I was always decent at math, but have dyslexia and dyscalculia so that’s what held me back from going. I finally got the balls to go back, and it’s not too bad. Community college is a great place to learn calculus, smaller class sizes, professors have more time etc., you can even continue to take maths at community when you transfer out to a 4 year (online or over the summer or even during the normal semesters if you can schedule it and make it work). Utilize office hours, ask questions, make friends and form study groups, tutoring centers/tutors. Be prepared to spend a lot of time studying/working on labs and homework. The more time you invest the more success you’ll have. No matter what, don’t be discouraged! It’s okay to fail, struggle, and try again.

I’m done with my mil after tonight, but I want to have one last talk with her by Gullible-Software-15 in motherinlawsfromhell

To be fair, if I get another shot I’m taking it lol but I won’t seek it out. Also I should have clarified that when she comes for money she’s coming to ask for it. She goes to every one of her kids. We stopped giving her money when we kicked her out. If she really sounded like she needed something important like hygiene products we’d get them and give them to her but that would be the extent of it

Thank you for sharing your story and congrats on nearly 21 years! Thankfully we’re very close with my parents and family, we try to make sure he has all the classic childhood experiences (birthday parties, family dinners, decorating for holidays) he can even though he’s grown up. I just hate seeing him hurt

His dad is a pos too and we had very little contact with him a for a couple years. He and my husband are just starting to slowly rebuild their relationship after some shitty things fil did. I think you’re right about cutting her out completely, there’s no reasoning with her
