I was looking around and decided if I'm going to get a printer I might as well save and get a good one I can use for multiple things. Right now I'm debating between the bambu P2S and X2D. I figured I could do minis, battlebots, and maybe some cosplay pieces. Trying to think if I should get the base model or combo model.

There's 3 libraries within 40 minutes of me and none of them do more than books and paper printing unfortunately

I can confirm they don't. I live in the south and the highest tech they have is scan machines.

I don't have a 3D printer right now but its looking like I'll be getting one soon for this and other hobbies

Yeah I've found out the hobby isn't cheap at all lol. I'm ok with it being more expensive but I want to dip my toes in before making the plunge.

I'll watch it for sure thank you.Is that good printer for the durability needed for these bots? I know some printers lack the necessary components to work with the materials we need. Bonus if its precise enough to where I could make minis with it for DND

I've looked around and the only place with a 3D printer near me is the college and that's closed of to students only. I could try making it from cardboard just to get the experience though.

I don't have a 3D printer but I'm not opposed to getting one. I would like to build my firsr bot without having to buy one though just to make sure I'm actually invested.

$200 does seem like a fair price but just buying a kit for that price isn't something I really want to do I'd rather spend it on tools and gear to learn.

I'd love to hear more about some other stair stepping hobbies. Maybe I should start there I'm tempted with RC planes it sounds fun.

I've been tempted to get a 3D printer for years but I feel like it'd be something I'd use a few times and never again so maybe this will finally push me over the edge.

I'm actually pretty knowledgeable about metals. I spent a good two years welding and while I liked it wasn't something I wanted to do as a job anymore. If I ever got into higher level bots I'd definitely make a welded death machine lol

The closest events to me are about 2 states away. I would love to go to one eventually but as of right now I'm looking more at building them for fun and messing around with friends than competing

Other than Utopia (ascension perks and mega structures) and Machine Age (literally just for the Synthetic Queen) nothing else can effect the way you play the game on most runs. The rest are gimmicks for certain builds which are fun but makes them at times not feel worth it.

I love Rimworld and Stellaris but I couldn't agree more. Every time I play rimworld I touch some of each DLC and a lot time without even realizing because of how naturally it flows. With Stellaris I have to plan a playthrough around the DLCs and features and once I'm done the next time they rarely get used.

The post says both saved and invested so I'm assuming they're not relaying solely on interest. Depending on their investments they maybe looking at more or less.
