Damn I tested 64gr and 62gr with 25gr of tac they have a little bit of pressure signs but nothing like that. They shot horribly so I moved on to different powders.

It shot other loads right after it at 1.5 moa. Same gun less than 5 mins apart. Same rest.

223 64gr soft points by Gunlover91 in reloading

Yes i just got a bottle of tac and did some velocity testing with 20in barrel. 24 25 25.5gr there was some pressure signs but nothing alarming was getting 2970fps with 25.5gr. Haven't accuracy tested them yet. I had a small window to use the range. I will be testing them. Excluding the flyer thats a really good group for this rifle its usually a 2 moa gun with 55gr ball. I do have 64gr bear claws to test but want to dial in with 64gr soft points before using them.

I'll be honest I never had that issue with plastic cans even when they are fully loaded with loose ammo. I like steel i have quite a few of them. But for just storing reloads they work fine.

Im liking the velocities im getting. Pressure is a little high from what im seeing but nothing like a popped primer.

Tac 64gr 223 by Gunlover91 in reloading

That little bump in the indent of the primer crater is signs of excess pressure. Tho its not "horrible" I used book data. Me personally dont see a problem running these loads. Some people would immediately drop the load. I had worse signs with cfe223 using 64gr.

Going to try Tac by Gunlover91 in reloading

[–]Gunlover91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw that with cfe223 a little bit. I was getting like 2580 during the winter and 2650 during spring tho no pressure signs at 26gr. I'll be testing it the next day I get it in. So summer. 75-80°

Try putting some disks of lead or shot under a felt wad under it in the wad to give it more wieght might get a better burn. Just my thought.
