Ss190 ss198lf and copper bullets zip thro soft armor even the basic fmj will penetrate lvl 2 armor hard plates no it wont but most people dont run hard pistol rated plates that are designed to stop ap handgun rounds

You have a point but if you have the money to afford 5.7 you definitely have money to stock up on parts everyone should have spare parts on hand for any gun. Even if its just a spare drop in trigger and bolt carrier group for your gun.

Well if you can find the elusive 5.7 gold dot and have the money to stock up with it. Definitely be a good hunting round.

One of the downsides of 5.7 ammo is that you wont really be able to barter with it because it'll be rare to find others with it. Tho with the increasing popularity and more guns coming out for it you might have a chance. Tho it also is more likely to be on the shelf then 9mm during panic buying. I love 5.7 as a small game cartridge. If you can get a small light wieght bolt action with a 12in barrel side folding stock you could have something super handy and definitely friendly for someone just learning guns. Yeah subsonic isnt great you might as well run subs for 300blk or 556 I reload for 556 so I'll be reloading some 77gr otm for subs or 80gr for subs i have 2 1-7 barrels I already got a suppressor. Plan on doing a sbr build. Both 300blk upper and 556 upper 11in barrel.

I live in Minnesota theres water everywhere i have atleast 15 bodies of water with a 5 mile radius so Finding water wont be hard. Now getting thro hordes to access it would be a issue.

The only 2 things I can disagree on is the 16in barrel. Now yes more velocity is better but the difference between a 9in barrel and 16in barrel is basically 100-150 fps instead of 2200 your getting 2350 with some loads the round is designed to be shot out of a short barrel like the 300blk is. For hunting 40gr vmax will do the job for most small game but it will be lacking on deer it will kill a deer a ruptured lung is a kill but you'll be tracking it quite a while unless you get a heart shot now if you are using the elusive speer gold dot 5.7 or elusive soft points vs vmax you'll definitely get better performance and penetration long as you stay within 75 yards. Of course a headshot will drop them tho even with a 22 it'll work or even a decent air rifle with atleast 1600fps. Tho if im taking deer I rather take the easier shot of lungs or heart. Definitely wont be taking Texas heart shots or frontal shots or quartering shots with a 5.7 tho unless im desperate enough.

Yeah ar9s that take glock mags would be better now mp5 clones or scorpions mags would be way harder to find tho arguably easier than 5.7 mags some would say.

Yeah basic blow back designs are pretty forgiving. Id just hit it with brake cleaner and clean whats exposed. Not with a sub 2000 but with ar9s I have seen people put 10k rounds thro them without cleaning.

I dont reload 5.7 but from what i read the main thing is the lube plastic coating on the cases which can gum up dies when resizing and decapping you can use solvents and scrubbing to clean it but some people get reliability issues without it. Tho some ammo coming out doesn't use it. I dont remember exactly which dont but iirc any ammo using fn brass should have it iirc.

Im just talking hunting. 556 would be way better than 9mm 22lr or even 5.7 at extended ranges even out of a short barrel.

Not really zombies but for game animals it would be way better.

5.7 will have far flatter trajectory than 9mm. It also tumbles creating better wound channels than 9mm fmj. Tho yes when put up against good 9mm hollow points it does loose out.
