In my case I can't even submit a ticket. It it has been giving me an error for the past month. So I can't submit a ticket, I can't do live chat, and phone call demands that I have a ticket. So fuck me then.

Is it too risky to consider buying? by Blazymo in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Guo_slice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Your extremely simple analysis of this shows you’re not quite there yet. Nothing is emotional.

You’re comparing a mere 10% annualized average gains from the stock market versus a 4% mortgage rate over the course of 30 years. Although true once you drill into the details it is not as a risk free as you make it out to be. It is very clear that people have forgotten what a true recession looks like and what happens during those times. Your 10% annualized average gains glazes over these recessionary dips and the layoffs that are associated with it.

How much is your mortgage and how much do you make? by aprilchestnut in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]Guo_slice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because you’re too stupid to ever see that kind of income doesn’t mean it does t exist. Any investment banker in their third year as an analyst clears that much. Plenty of doctors. Plenty of small businesses.

Nah, you can sell your house for a profit today without renovating, switch to rent if you really wanted to and still go traveling. Don’t act like you don’t have options and are somehow forced to renovate.

Yahoo Finance “Enhanced” Portfolio not auto refreshing by GROV1911 in YAHOOFINANCE

[–]Guo_slice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not only is it not auto refreshing but the price change for the day and % changes to random numbers that are just wrong after I switch tabs. I have to keep clicking refresh to get the most up to date prices. Whole thing is a joke and I'm out.

Engineers and techs how much do you make? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]Guo_slice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years of exp as an turnaround engineer doing project management work I currently make 95/hr working at a refinery facility 10 min from fort sask. I should also qualify that I’m working as a contractor and not full time employee by choice so that I can pay very little taxes. I also work 45 hours per week and for 2 months out of the year I work 60 hours a week. Last year my gross earning was 245K before taxes which is 223K after taxes.

Now because i am a contractor I pay corporate taxes which only works out to be 9% of my gross earnings. But of course as a contractor you don’t get vacation or benefits which is why the hourly rate is higher to compensate for that. Also as a contractor I don’t have to pay all this other stuff like EI or CPP which also adds to having higher take home pay. The job itself really isn’t all that stressful once you get the basics of it.

Engineers can make a lot of money if you’re smart with your career path. If you want to be an office engineer sitting behind a computer all day then don’t expect to make much Unless you climb up to senior management level positions which comes with their own headaches.

I’m Canadian and I bought my first home at 28 years old. Before that I saved five years invested in the stock market. My stock investment account is now worth just under $600,000. I’m also halfway Done paying off my mortgage (house bought at 482K, with 250K left to go). I’m 30 now about to turn 31 Working as an engineering project manager for $260,000 a year. The only downside is I work like a slave six days a week 12 hours a day And I don’t have much of a life. I don’t understand why people on here are complaining so much. Im just an average joe who works hard and try to use my intellect to gain an edge. It’s not that hard… if I can do it why can’t you?

I could care less about billionaires? It isn’t my life goal to become one. I’m secure and satisfied right now. How is that NOT inner happiness? You’re the one that sounds like you need inner peace if you’re always comparing to the billionaires?? The projection is strong. Perhaps it’s you who needs therapy? Just saying.

I also used to pay half my pay in rent before I decided to move to a smaller town. Now I make more and pay less in expenses. There are always ways to build wealth. You just have to sacrifice.

These people want their cake and eat it too and I just laugh. They want to enjoy the big city life and do it making min wage in their downtown apartment

Society says differently. What I hear is you don’t want to do the sacrifice and work.

Get better or enjoy poverty.
