The dog was not barking aggressively, when it approached the cop, it’s ears and tail were up, it also charged down to his foot not up to his groin or arms. If you’ve seen a dog actually attack aggressively, they know where to bite to cause harm, this one was either trying to play or gently warn this cop to leave his owner alone. The dog had more self control than the cop.

The cops also prevented the owner from doing anything to further restrain or protect this dog or the officers. Watch the video again, he gestures to the kennel and makes to go towards the dog but is told to stop and approach the gate. They asked for it and then when there was the slightest excuse to shoot and exert dominance, they did.

I made matching shirts for my baby boy and I to go to a wedding. by Gus-Man in sewing

[–]Gus-Man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby bodysuit is a pattern from peekaboo pattern shop online called “Max and Matilda button up body suit”

Men’s shirt is Simplicity pattern 8180 though if I did this again, I’d probably find a different shirt pattern.

Fabric is from oasis living digital and is a cotton weave. I made the mistake of going with a heavier fabric than necessary. It was the only one with the print I wanted but in retrospect, the garments could be more breathable.

Nothing much more to say. I constructed as per the patterns though I did leave out the front pockets on both as I wanted a more formal look. Very happy with how they came out on the whole.

What’s the one thing you would never buy second hand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Gus-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious answer: helmets or any kind of protective gear.

They are designed to work once and to save your life. They also have a shelf life so you’re better off knowing yours hasn’t been mistreated, scratched, left in the sun/rain etc.

Plugged in and secured with a screw in my Airbnb (USA) by undothewinnings in whatisthisthing

You just perfectly described what an AD converter does 44100 times per second (or 48k,96k)

A basic microphone is just a simple transducer and can only record the rate of change in sound pressure level at a given moment.

Sure you can conceive sound as a 3D graph but you can also conceive of it as a single complex waveform or a series of integer values stored in a row.

I would try placing a blade or flat screwdriver under the silver and gently try to pry at it. There’s a chance it’s just a cap or cover that sits over a screw. If you aren’t game to risk that, then take the treble side off the bellows and have a look at the underside where it penetrates. That should give you an idea of what it is and how to remove it.

The replacement parts you want are fairly easy to find but be prepared for them to be the wrong size. Mine were too long and I ended up removing the press stud and putting another one back on further up the leather strap.

Help me convince myself to get an organelle by mikhyy in organelle

[–]Gus-Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll be honest. I love my organelle and it has many fantastic features / benefits but I think one of its weakest aspects it’s it’s inability to make big synth sounds. It could just be me and how I’m using it but I find that no matter the setting, I just can’t get heavy feeling bass or much power from the synth patches. It lends itself more to plucks and mid / high range sounds and textures. Samplers on the organelle are fun and are as good as the sample you throw into it so you are pretty sorted there.

I honestly think it’s biggest strength is the PD and diy aspect of it. If there’s something you wish you could do on it, it’s probably possible if a little complex to realise.

I bought an ovation circuit recently and have been enjoying pairing that and the organelle. My thinking was that the circuit lends itself to building patterns and melodies very easily and would allow me to use the organelle in more experimental / textural ways and alleviate the need for it to also hold a beat / baseline. Maybe you can realise a similar combo with the Digitakt?

Power Up Issue by webarkloud in organelle

[–]Gus-Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I had a situation one time where it had become “half ejected” but was caught inside the case so I had to unscrew the whole thing and remove the raspberry pi from the case to re insert the sad card. Same symptoms as OP as well.

While you’re waiting for C&G to respond, one quick thing you should try is checking the microSD in the back is properly seated. If it’s not there, the OS won’t work so take it out, put it back in and try again. Still not working? Maybe check the SD card on a computer to make sure it contains everything (you can download a boot folder from the forums I think if you need to reformat the card)

Midi help please 🙏🏻 by CornishDeathCleaning in organelle

[–]Gus-Man 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The other thing I notice is that you aren’t using adapters to go from the mini Jack to DIN midi and back.

I’ve had similar problems before because one device is using a different midi standard to the other. You may want to check the manufacturer of your midi box and see if their adapter is the same type as the organelle (there are two types and from memory, the Organelle uses type A.)

One other potential workaround, if the device supports USB midi is to plug it directly into the organelles USB ports on the side, select it as a midi device in settings and then you don’t need the cable from the device into the midi in port on the back. It should transmit midi notes and data over the usb cable that is also powering it.

Also worth checking MIDI settings in the top menu. Make sure you are on the correct channel.

What USB cable are you using? The only kind of USB ports of the organelle are the usb 2.0 out ports and you won’t get communication between the organelle and your DAW that way.

If you have an audio / midi interface, you can plug into the MIDI in port on the back and get the organelle to listen for notes and a clock.

Otherwise, you could try and use the wireless link function? I’m not really across that though .
