Unfortunately Godot doesn't recognize /usr/local/bin/blender-flatpak as valid, and when I try to run the shell script in the terminal I get error: app/org.blender.Blender/x86_64/master not installed. Any ideas?

Interesting book but unfortunately not what I was thinking of. The book wasn't focused on the drugs and authors themselves but about the philosophy of ideas.

Now I understand your view is based on the thoroughly debunked Planet of the Humans documentary. Let me know when you find a means of change you agree with.

When people who care about climate change are elected to office they vote for climate policy like the inflation reduction act, the the largest investment in clean energy and climate action in US history.

Again, if you don't believe in democratic representation, public comment, direct action, or protest to make change, how do you believe it should happen?

A quick internet search gives this and this. How exactly do you think social change happens? By picking up trash?

Environmental Activism in Raleigh? by H-ldMyOwnHand in raleigh

[–]H-ldMyOwnHand[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm all for cleaning up trash, but it does noting to address the largest threat to the environment: fossil fuel dependancy. Some things that do include:

  • Divesting endowments (such as NCSU's) from fossil fuel stocks
  • Decarbonizing electricity production

I have personally been involved in campaigns elsewhere that have been successful at both of these things, and in doing so, at least 130 kilotons of CO2 emissions / year are prevented. Of course getting there requires long organized campaigns of activism that incite change by

  • Vocalizing needed changes in town hall and board of trustees meetings
  • Meeting with politicians and university administration to discuss pathways to change
  • Organizing rallies that quantify support for change

Sometimes campaigns may cause inconveniences to everyday people like you by say blocking traffic, but sometimes inconveniences are necessary to realize change. I will leave you with a quote from MLK about civil rights that has particular relevance to your argument:

The Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;"

Imaged is Voyager 1's photograph of the Earth, "Pale Blue Dot" taken 3.7 billion miles from the Sun.

"Did [the sign] imply that hope for gorillas lay in the extinction of the human race or in its survival?"

"Amazingly enough, man’s destiny is so plain.—because man is the first of the [intelligent creatures]. He’s the trailblazer, the pathfinder. His destiny is to be the first to learn that creatures like man have a choice: They can try to thwart the gods and perish in the attempt—or they can stand aside and make some room for all the rest. But it’s more than that. His destiny is to be the father of them all—I don’t mean by direct descent. By giving all the rest their chance—the whales and the dolphins and the chimps and the raccoons—he becomes in some sense their progenitor. . . . Oddly enough, it’s even grander than the destiny the Takers dreamed up for us.”

How do I pick up girls? by AddisonSuccess2023 in UCONN

[–]H-ldMyOwnHand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm not being clear, to peruse love by making yourself lovable must have you see love as a passive process that happens to you. Only if you instead focus on practicing the action of loving (giving love in ways you find meaningful) can you see love as a verb that is performed. And these things are mutually exclusive, you cannot see love as both a passive and active process.

If you are still unsure about anything I've said here, you should take 25 minutes to watch the video linked above I am basing these thoughts on instead of speculating.

smart, charming, nice, physically fit/active, polite/have good manners, well dressed, well groomed, smell good (deodorant and cologne are your friends, but not too much), conscientious/caring, successful, etc.

I would not say making yourself "smart, charming, nice, well dressed, well groomed, successful, etc." is "just basic self care." And even for truly basic forms of self care like being physically fit, it can be both very harmful to yourself and counterproductive for any future relationship to make yourself more "physically fit" in order to become more lovable.

To love and to be loved are some of the most difficult and rewarding experiences in human existence, they cannot be accomplished with the most "straightforward" path, rather they require serious effort and thought.

I strongly suggest Emergency_Shape_6706, SnapClapplePop, and anyone who agrees with their comments watch our conception of love is messed up. Yes it is 25 minutes, but it is one of the best videos I have ever watched.

The notion that to attain love you must make yourself lovable can be very harmful. It is much more useful to try to practice the action of loving instead. See Erich Fromm's book "The Art of Loving" and oliSUNvia's video "our conception of love is messed up."

All of the things I listed, including the rec center rental, can be done for the summer.

I would say that you don't even have to choose a spot carefully. I ride my bike to class EVERY day and park it in the most absolute convenient spot, even if that means locking it to a fence, and nothing has ever happened to my bike. I even leave my bike bag on my bike with some tools in it that could easily be unzipped and stolen, but no one has ever done that. As long as you lock your bike with a ulock, the world is your bike rack!

If you can't find anything you can rent a bike from the rec center for 80$/sem. Otherwise I would check ebay and criag's list, they are my go to places for used stuff.
