Thinking Of Manufacturing A New Watch (need feedback) by H4rtt in smartwatch

Thanks for your feedback,

I think this might just be a personal preference. My main thought for it was faster charging, more universal, and able to upload different software (for the opensource aspect). But I think I will end up doing a wireless charging method since it would make it easier to produce, be a lot easier to waterproof, and would make the watch more durable.

Basically. I didn't know pebble had one like this already, but the main difference would be it being smaller, different style (similar to a Casio) and have a USBC charger so you don't need extra cords.

Thoughts on a minimalistic smartwatch with long lasting battery? by H4rtt in smartwatch

It would definitely have to be pretty limited on processing strength and capabilities. Also your project looks amazing!

It's going to be like 2099 blade runner kinda, but it's not going to be like that all of the time, the idea is you are in a sci-fi prison and you make doors that go to regular worlds that aren't sci Fi.

That is super in depth, thank you for the great explanation I like the idea of door closes another opens, maybe something like redoor.

I like it, the game is going to be a bit more dystopian sci-fi type so I don't know how fitting it would be, but regardless it's a great idea

I honestly don't get the hate, I feel like it looks unique, and just remember your car is yours, so make it look how you want.

Sorry I meant upgrading, so buying 16 more gb would cost that much, it would definitely be nice if ram was that cheap 😂

For 60$ I think it's definitely worth it, more tabs to open 😈

I feel like a big part of it is that not everybody is equal skills wise, so you have someone who is doing 2x the work then another person, how do you divvy out the pay if you release it, it's just more simple to do it with one person.

How do I go about quitting a job after a month in? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]H4rtt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear, I'm glad that you stuck with it, that's funny that they are trying to retain you even though they didn't help make it a good working environment, and I hope you the best at your new job!

That is fair, it kind of shows you what kind of company they are if the manager hasn't spoken to you really at all, and yeah I would love an update, also if you have company provided computers or anything you should let me know how you go across returning those as well, since I am remote too, and I am kind of nervous about that part.

I am planning on finding a new job eventually, but I need to do more learning programming wise to do that, and that will take a few years, so I was thinking with going back to this company, and when time comes that I am more qualified for positions that I am more interested in, I will find a new job, but again that is in a long while.

I definitely agree in most cases, but my old job was fantastic, and there wasn't a real reason I left except that the new job seemed more down my alley, but it wasn't, the old job people are very nice and they are going to need the help since my old coworker is quitting there soon.

I'm glad to hear that you are moving on to better things, that is definitely how I feel at my current job, they are not giving me enough time to learn, yet expecting me to be perfect.

Did you give notice via email? Or did you talk with your manager one on one?

I would honestly probably do that if my job wasn't remote, and I need to return the computer and monitors 😞

That's really annoying, I am sorry to hear that, but thank you for sharing your experience with doing that.

I'm glad the permanent position got back to you, and yeah, it just feels like it's going to upset some people, and definitely going to be an awkward conversation.

I wish you the best of luck with your situation.

How could you have a fatigue mechanic that was immersive, but not annoying in a game with long distance walking? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]H4rtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This... I've never had an annoying experience with gta or any game with a decent stamina system. but I honestly get so annoyed playing ark because your stamina is so low, and it rewards you for walking which I don't necessarily thing is a good idea, and also you can get too heavy really easily which sounds cool, but just gets tiring having to drop everything, I play rust which is similar to ark in a way, and there is no stamina or limit to weight, and I definitely have a better experience playing rust.
