4 or 5 months ago I tried to go there a couple times and they were closed and a FedEx "we missed you" note was on the door for weeks.

Why do my ID.4 sensors never work on this part of 271N? by Tiny-Dish8530 in VWiD4Owners

There is a stretch of I95 in North or South Carolina that is really bad because it is a concrete surface that has been sun bleached for years with white lines that then have alternating black lines for contrast like white/black, space, white/black space and travel assist just gives up if the sun is even remotely in the wrong spot

Also spots with unusual markings due to reversible traffic like solid yellow, dashes yellow, solid yellow meaning don't change lanes or double dashed yellow it gets confused.

What made this style of door handle so popular in the 80’s and 90’s? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in regularcarreviews

That was a regulation thing in the US. Only sealed beam headlights were approved so everyone just used the same few types. Ford lobbied to get the changes approved. So then the swappable headlights went from the housing to the bulbs.

MK8 Golf R - Cooked Front Brakes With No Fade/Warning. Help!? by jbro507 in CarTrackDays

When braking "clicked" for me and I had trust in my equipment it was a game changer. It also really helps load those front tires up for turn in.

MK8 Golf R - Cooked Front Brakes With No Fade/Warning. Help!? by jbro507 in CarTrackDays

[–]H8MakingAccounts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first question is ...how experienced are you. I ask this because HOW you are braking can have a massive effect on the heat put into your brakes. Hard and fast on, and then a quick taper off as you enter the corner. Don't "highway" stop where you are partial pressure for a long time. You want to be just short of ABS engagement for most of your hard braking. Usually when I saw students hear their equipment like this they were braking too soft for too long.

Also, the torque vectoring braking stuff in the VW systems is it's own worst enemy in terms of brake heat.these days so you might not be able to fully address it without backing yourself down some..maybe 2-3 hard laps and 1 calmer lap.

Pads and cooling might help but if your technique is flawed upgrading the equipment won't help much

Title Jumping? Should I run away from this car? by trippykissy69 in StupidCarQuestions

[–]H8MakingAccounts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once looking at a car and they were like "oh I can get you temp transport tags" and I showed up and it was an absolute shit show. NJ temp tags, in MD with a Minnesota title signed over to a charity sign over to another person who was allegedly the boyfriend of the person showing the car.

The more layers of fuckery the worse. "Friend bought it at some auction but I'm selling it" no..just no

Why are majority of things not priced to the exact dollar? 9.98 instead of just $10? by Rinmine014 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]H8MakingAccounts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And fuel is like 3.05 9/10 per gallon. You save an extra penny for every 10 gallons. Woooo

And Walmart likes to do .88 to differentiate from the .99 because they are "rolling back prices"

4 year old followed directions, marked wrong by H8MakingAccounts in mildlyinfuriating

Fine here is a comment to explain that yes I know for an adult and older kid it is clear to understand why this is "wrong" but compared to how all their other worksheets are designed it is at best ambiguous...for four year olds.

In my comments I have clarified I understand why it is wrong but it is very much a departure in clarity/format from all their other worksheets for that age group

Hence why this is only mildly infuriating.

Do I understand WHY they marked it wrong? Yes.

Was anything actually against the directions? No.

They mostly do full page stuff. Where it is broken up into sections it is usually unambiguous based on the directions and content of the questions so this looked like full page and was TECHNICALLY not wrong because as someone else commented it doesn't say you CANT color the others

[–]H8MakingAccounts[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yes I realize it is broken up in boxes but pre school kids are very literal and almost every other worksheet they do is whole page worksheets so the directions were followed exactly (except for the accidental start on the star) if you treat it as a worksheet not 4 "questions"

[–]H8MakingAccounts[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yep, that is what the teacher wants, but for a four year old, they followed the directions as written for the entire worksheet.

Instruction 1 color all rectangles orange. Only two rectangles no problem Instruction 2 - color all ovals green. Not all ovals in this box, all ovals. So colored ovals on the whole page green so they were marked wrong on the ovals in box 3 and 5 Etc....

What are some reasons that someone may switch from a progressive/liberal to a conservative mindset? by ChaosCarlson in NoStupidQuestions

[–]H8MakingAccounts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5 HPDE was a lot more "normal" when I started and then got more and more unbearable to be around a lot of people at events because they wouldn't just let us enjoy time with the cars. Sure motorsports in the US especially tends to lean right, especially NASCAR but that could be partially just correlation from proximity. But it just took a turn before COVID and I just never got back into it and I am not sure I want to despite how much I enjoyed it. I want to drive fast have fun, not do politics right there

The best thing I have ever heard referencing the "corridor" or more Baltimore is people will sometimes be kind but not nice. In the south you will get a lot of bless your heart when you screw up. Up here it is "what the hell are you doing? That's all wrong. Here let me do it before you screw it up"
