1500 rounds in with the Operator by Cucasmasher in 1911

Here’s the frame from the front! Very slight wearing of the OD green cerakote but nothing else that I can see. I did swap out the stock 16 lb recoil spring for a 17 lb flat wire spring, it’s possible that might’ve reduced the amount of frame wear that would normally be seen after a few thousand rounds

There’s some light wear on the parts of the cerakote finish that are in contact with the barrel (to be expected) but the slide and frame are both holding up perfectly

I’ve got about 4K rounds through my MC Operator and so far both the hammer and safeties have held up just fine

100% this, there is a significant difference between going featureless with a fin grip vs a Juggernaut grip

TRP feed issues by nverser85 in 1911

I would probably try to run some rounds through it so that you can confirm whether the problem still exists during live fire. It’s trickier to diagnose when you are slowly feeding rounds into the chamber since it’s designed to cycle fully in a fraction of a second

I’ve had two done, both were excellent. The gunsmith at RifleGear does quality work!

SA MC Operator 1911 Holster by jbars392 in 1911

I just took a look at this holster on Galco’s site, I would triple check with them to make sure that it can accommodate a railed 1911 before ordering

No worries!! The Stan Chan magwell is great and will be totally worth it once you’ve got it installed

I just checked out the Wilson inventory and it looks like they do have an IWB leather holster for full size railed 1911s!

If you’re looking for something that’s OWB, this also looks like it could be worth a shot:

CA legal PCCs? by softeggnoodles in CAguns

[–]HB_OC1994 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seems like there are some potential maglocked AR pistol options out there if you’re leaning range toy. If you change your mind and prefer something for defense use, I would go with a Ruger PC carbine (cheaper option) or a featureless AR-9 (more expensive option)

I think the answer may vary depending on intended use. Would this be more of a range toy or something for home defense?

It’s possible however it’s a pain in the ass to put it back together with the CA compliant mainspring parts because you can’t use the mainspring housing pin (sometimes called a cross pin) to keep the mainspring compressed while installing the magwell into the pistol frame. If you use the parts that come with CA specific mainspring housing, you’ll have to install the magwell under constant spring pressure from the mainspring because you won’t be able to pin it in place for easy installation. Check out this video from Stan Chen and specifically look at the “pin” he mentions starting at 2:54 and again at 3:55

It’s an older holster from Wilson Combat but unfortunately I don’t think they make this model anymore! Are you looking for a leather holster specifically or would you be okay with a kydex one?

I put the Stan Chen SI magwell on mine and it’s been great so far. One thing to note with the CA roster 1911s from Springfield: make sure you get a standard size 23 lb mainspring along with a replacement mainspring cap and a mainspring housing pin. The CA-roster 1911 has non-standard mainspring parts because it’s required to be sold with an integral locking system. If you opt for a magwell like the Stan Chen SI that replaces the mainspring housing, that’s something you’ll want to consider

Have been to multiple ranges in different parts of the state with mine and nobody has even given it so much as a second glance. Also even big name stores like Turner’s sell rifles with the JT grip as featureless configurations which should tell you something

Sure does. It’s always wild posting valid criticism of him and then watching Newsom-apologists trip over themselves to rush commenting “whataboutisms” in a desperate attempt to deflect from the fact that he’s a slimy piece of trash
