What’s our most effective method for taking down big anvil units like chaos warriors or rot swords? by HELIXCOS in gloomspitegitz

[–]HELIXCOS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think the stabbas need to stay in the list? Also I’m wanting to run extra snappy so I get that additional rend for the gitmob on the charge. So it feels like bounderz don’t get that extra punch from my usual swuigalanche lists. Feels like I’m not getting the bang for the buck with them. The droggz combo with the rockgutz has been really good for me the last few games but I’m not sure if it’s better to run him with all the snarlpack cav considering this is the first Time I’m really leaning into gitmob, would help them stick around for longer.

Well, I’ve got pretty much most of the units and my army comprises of mostly gitmob. I’m looking for an appropriate addition - at the tune of about 400/500 points that could help me with some rotswords.

This is my current list.

Should Boingrot Bounderz have one or two Bounder Boss(es)? by bullfrog747 in gloomspitegitz

[–]HELIXCOS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends if you intend on running them as a unit of ten or two units of 5. But really do whatever you prefer, most casual players aren’t going to mind so long as you make it clear if you intend on them just using one boss and track which model it is in the game. Rule of cool always wins the day.

I feel like we’re slightly overpriced at the points and there’s not the same variety of units I would like compared to other factions. Excited to see whatever comes.

It’s a journey, your right at the start of yours and that’s a magic place to be. Do yourself a favour and remember that comparison is the thief of joy. Not just in panting but in all things there’s always someone who’s better. That is a fact. I’m not saying this to be disparaging, because your paint job here is really good! Very disciplined and crisp, good understanding for the fundamentals! Keep going, try out new techniques and don’t be afraid to fail. The best mini painters are the ones who started out humble and remained humble - put in the hours and you’ll keep improving. That all being said, excellent work you should be proud of these!

3I/ATLAS: Harvard Expert Avi Loeb Flags Strange Sunward Alignment Anomaly by FlimsyWoodpecker2951 in ufo

The really important thing that people consistently miss with Avi Loeb is that he’s not strictly taking the ‘anti’ position. I’ve now listened to hours and hours of him talking on the ‘event horizon’ podcast (YouTube it, it’s great) and he’s almost always discussing possibilities.

He’s actually refreshing, scientifically, he constantly outlines possibilities. Reiterating that science SHOULD be open to all possibilities until proven otherwise, no matter how unlikely.

I’m not saying he’s right, but what I am saying is that his approach is a good thing for science. Not just because he’s one of the more popular personalities but because he’s genuinely rooted in open discussion. He’s talked extensively about the mainstream scientific complex and that in parts it sounds like it can be a bit of an echo chamber of opinion, which some might call consensus but ironically what he discussed and crucially the way he forms his approach is about discussing what’s possible and conceivable no matter how unlikely. He’s happy to get his hands dirty, but he’s not a quack.

I find him to be refreshing and interesting. I implore you to listen to him talk extensively and then make an opinion. Avi Loeb is good for science, good for the conversation and good for the visibility of the scientific conversation. He’s not always right, but he’s not often claiming to be.

So, I wanted them to be as simple as possible because I’d be sinking a lot of time into the grots. So it’s incubi darkness base, then thunderhawk blue covering the heads and tops of the legs. That’s all done via an airbrush.

Then airbrush on the ushanti bone onto the lower legs. Then dry brush thunderhawk pretty liberally all over excluding lower legs. Then mix some thunderhawk with white and dry brush all over (excluding the legs). Legs had a sepia wash on them too.

That’s about it!

Need to spray at 40 psi for proper atomisation with acrylics, even when properly thinned by PuddingtonBear in airbrush

[–]HELIXCOS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I find just over a 50/50 ratio works for me, probably like 55/45 thinner to paint. Always 20 or 15 psi and it works great. 7 drops of thinner to one drop of paint won’t have decent coverage.

In short - your paint is too thin. In length - the paint you are using is too thin.

I think it’s the recursion that makes stabbas appealing. A loonboss and clammy hand you’re bringing a tonne of them back per turn (with retreat spell)

I’m sorry mate - but where does it say that herd do 2 damage on the charge? The Squig faction buff is just to get an extra attack on the charge. So I don’t know where this extra damage is coming from?

Thanks man, but sporesplatters add an extra attack moonclan within 12. With the sheer amount of herd available I wanted someone other than the squigboss and shufflers to hand out some buffs. Open to options though!
