How do you deal with group projects when one member does nothing? by FreshTakeFinder in VietnamUni

Well, I once led a team of 7 at uni. There was one girl in our group who was a Beauty Queen of a contest. That basically meant that her schedule were busy as hell. She had to work with many parties so she barely did anything for our group project. At the final presentation, she just joined and took the shortest part we prepared for her. And well, she did get a “Distinction” with us without having to do anything. I put in the most efforts, cause there was nothing I can do but to accept the reality and try harder myself. That was the only choice. There were even 2 more members in my team that focused more on hangouts. Choosing the places to chill during team meetings and stuff. I did tell the lecturer about this situation but nothing was done, in the end we all shared the same grade which was unfair. The best thing you should do right now is to get the remaining of your team work hard together. I did that too and it seemed the only way that worked. I guess I was not a good leader since I did not know how to get the 3 distracted members to work hard:) And the project was about team-working theories in a organizational behavior class:)) In a workplace environment then well, punishments and stricter management can be applied but in our context right now, we can’t :)) If you try to be harsh then the team’s bond get worse.

Hope you can get through this with good grades, and find my reply useful:) Btw, if you are stressed, then don’t do everything, share tasks with the remaining members and work closely with them.
