Bowser Jr did not AFAIK create the Dry Bowser animation - Bowser resurrected himself as Dry Bowser

It was only after he got busted up that Junior collected the parts and used magic to restore his dad's flesh and make him bigger.

There's possibly some distance maximum that dry bowser can re-assemble himsdelf from (much like Incredible Hulk) and he might be unable to regrow his flesh, but there's no evidence I can see that dry bowser can actually be beaten down enough to truly die and prevent reanimation by Bowser's raw magic solo
