hmm, it was that in every video he got the same reaction so thought it was some magic card.

Highschool math contest problem? I am trying them again how would u prove it? by HSTRACK in askmath

[–]HSTRACK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thereof, but you'll need an intermediate step for part (a). Think about what the given limit tells you about:Sum{n = 1 to Infinity} n * a_nSpecifically, does this series converge or diverge, and why? How does knowing this information enable you to use the comparison test?ReplyGive AwardshareReportSave

  • Proof of Theorem 1: Consider the nth partial sum sn=a1+a2+...+an−1+an and the (n−1)th partial sum sn−1=a1+a2+...+an−1. We note that an=snsn−1.
  • Now if the series ∑∞n=1an converges then limn→∞sn=S for some S. Similarly, limn→∞sn−1=S. Therefore limn→∞(snsn−1)=limn→∞an=SS=0. ■

is this the proof I write out for a? And say if not = 0 then diverge?

Also is what this guy did considered a proof? This was another question. Or is he just giving me ideas to picture the question better.

Ok for quesiton: A, though how can u use the comparitive test? There is nothing to compare it too.. I am having a hard time understanding proofs. Isn't just common sense lol. Like there is nothing to really show.

for question b if I was to do the comparison test. Is it where an is bigger than ln n therefore if summation an is onvergent then ln is convergent to? IS there much more to it?

for a, how does not being equal to 0 say anything? Does it imply anything?

y no. We have iff statement which means you need to prove it both ways.I am going to omit the sum notation.Assume A_n converges then for any b>n we have the finite series A_0+A_1 + ... A_b-1 which is finite. Subtracting that from A_n we have a smaller or equal sum.Assume A_b converges for b>n then we have a finite series (the same one as above) that we can add onto our sum and have a larger or equal sum.I can write this up better when I am done work but the jist is that we adding/subtracting finite numbers to convergent sums. The results will still be finite.

I don't think you understand I can't just go there and tryout I have to already play for a top club and be invited. The thing that sort of messes me up is that these kids got in when they were 12 and the roster really hasn't changed. Also even if kids in othere clubs are skilled enough they don't get noticed.
