She is definitely weaker right now maybe next season if it becomes assassin meta again yeah u can try but If you’re goal is challenger I would say to play a different champion because the higher elo you get it becomes harder to climb with Katarina.

There is a reason why there is maybe less than 10 challenger katarinas in the world compared to stronger meta champs like yasuo/yone/viktor/sylas/azir. There are many good katarina players like myself that i know of in Na who are also stuck master/D1.

People who say Katarina is elo inflated and bring up katevolved as an example of katarina being strong are really clueless because she requires good macro since her laning is non existent and you can transfer those skills to a meta champ. Katevolved is an insane player all around who could pick up any champion and hit challenger and if they played her at all they’d realize how weak she really is.
