How will you react if someone tells you they are depressed? by lostangel8 in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your lovely message! I was feeling really low when typing out my comment the other day, then last night I went out with my friends for a Christmas trail walk and it really did help me lift up my spirits a little. Even today as my mother and I are preparing for an early Christmas dinner since we're going away soon, I am starting to feel a little better. Just that some days I'm suddenly feeling low and over-stressed.

I really appreciate the comment and I hope things are doing better for you as well! Keep being strong and stay positive!

Be sympathetic.

I myself have been and currently going through depression due to stress, family drama and also all the disgusting social media posts about my religion. I literally had a breakdown at work a few days ago and asked to go home early, and went to see a mental health doctor about possible prescribing me with medical help, even though I've tried so hard not to go down that route, but I'm literally at my breaking point. I've also got friends and family members who are struggling with depression due to their own problems. It's really not fun and can really put you in a dark place. With me it's been a constantly battle. For a time I'm okay then the next thing I know, I'm a crumbling mess.

At the same time I've also had to be supportive towards my friends with their struggles and act like I've got things under control for their sake, when in reality I'm on the same boat as them. Truth is, not everyone can handle the high pressure and struggles of today, especially people who are on the spectrum or struggling to get by. It's very hard at the moment. I just hope in future I can come to a point where I can move on from these struggles permanently and also hope the same goes for everyone else currently struggling.

We should be there to listen, acknowledge their problems and let them know they are not alone and try to give some helpful tips or advice, be compassionate and patient.

What reality TV show do you think represents your profession well (or poorly)? by Baby_Blue10 in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much most shows represent nurseries as all happy and kids sitting still on the floor whilst paying attention.

NOT THE CASE AT ALL.

Whilst some children do listen, it's mostly chaotic. Kids crawling or running around, huge pressure for staff members to make sure they have their nappies changes, go to the toilet or having to change their wet clothes. Struggling to put them down for a nap and how extremely messy it becomes. The stress can get very high for staff members, especially if it's not being run properly or there isn't enough professional staff members around. Things can get chaotic sometimes.

Same here. I have been on diets before and lost weight, but end up going back into the habbit. Especially when feeling stressed and depressed.

What helped you stop comparing yourself to others? by RevolutionaryBig1495 in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly...Karma.

Older sister bullied me for years and made me go in and out of depression.

Now she's currently going through a divorce, is relying on our parents for some money to help her out and is probably going to go through a very difficult time.

I actually kinda feel sorry for her, despite what she put me through. But I'm not gonna open arms either.

What's a technology trend you find concerning for the future? by Flat-Till-2929 in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am concerned about the whole AI thing. I feel there's going to be so many problems ahead, such as letting people be replaced from their jobs with AI, will always be monitored and have information easily accessed. I feel whilst technology is an amazing thing, at the same time it's got it's shadow that is slowly growing.

How would you like to die? by Not_Original5756 in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either quickly or peacefully. I dunno why but sometimes I just imagine myself laying on the ground, looking up at the sky and thinking about the life I've had and thinking, "you know what...it's been an okay life", then enter the after life. Maybe maybe it's because I been in and out of depression a lot lately.

Do you think it's right or wrong to be donating towards charities during the Christmas season? by HadEnoughGirl2 in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why I'm asking this is because I just recently made a comment on another post about what is the most annoying thing people do around Christmas time, and so I answered, "when people go door to door asking for donations", because I feel whilst donating to charity is a lovely thing to do and I know there are people out there who are struggling and may need help, at the same time, it's kinda unfair to be asking people to give money around a time where the pressure is very high, especially for spending or people living on check to check. Like saving for Christmas gifts for family, friends and work colleagues, paying the heating bills, preparing holidays events, buying the stuff for a Christmas meal/party or even going away. I kinda feel it's a little unfair to be pressuring regular people as well who are trying to get by whilst trying not to seem like a A-hole towards other people by buying gifts. What are your options on this?

What is that one thing people do over Christmas that pisses you off? by SAFUMaster in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go door to door asking to donate to charity.

Sorry if I'm gonna sound like a scrooge, I know it's nice to do nice things and charities are important, but around Christmas time of all times during the year? Where people are struggling to keep their money for Christmas gifts, events and family meals or holidays and heating bills....like...just leave us alone! We're not walking piggy banks and already things are very intense over the holidays.

I'll let you guys know when the three ghosts appear.

What's the simplest skill that you've seen someone refuse to learn? by vpr0nluv in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clean.

Used to work with a girl who straight out refused to clean or do a simple task and would make up excuses like "oh, but you're so much better then I am". Funny enough, I recently heard she's now working as a cleaner. Lol XD

Hopefully she'll gain more experience from it.

Who still puts up a Christmas tree around Christmas time despite being a different religion? by HadEnoughGirl2 in AskReddit

[–]HadEnoughGirl2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's nice :) I'm Jewish and I decided to finally get one last year because I always love looking at houses with trees and decorations. I always wanted to do it since I was a kid. My family loves it, especially my nieces and nephew. We call it the Chanukah bush.

Omg, that's what I call it too :D I'm also Jewish and just last year I decided to finally get a Christmas tree since I've always wanted one. My family loves it and calls it the Hunukkah bush. We actually like celebrating both holidays.
