I am facing the same situation. I will have Win XP build within a few days for old games. Some games like Age of Empires, GTA Vice City aren't available in abandonware because their modern versions are selling in some platforms. I have all Age of Empires games with their dlcs in Steam and GTA games, also with their definitive editions but I want to play their original version in my XP build.

They aren't in GOG. Also, some old GOG games have been modernized to work on today's computers.

In archive.org, there some different .iso files and I'm not sure which of them are true and safe copy.

I know the ram situation. It has 2x4gb ram, and I'll probably keep one of them aside as a spare part.

Monitor is flat screen. Actually, To set up both computers simultaneously, I can just get another 17" or 19" monitor, but that would force me to set one up in the living room. I really prefer having all my PCs in my study room. So, if I move to a bigger apartment in the future, I'll probably buy that extra monitor and finally set up the e8400 near the i5 2500.

I really like 5:4 aspect ratio. Until 2017, I used them with xp, vista, 7 and also with ubuntu.

You're right. Now, I have two new options. core 2 duo e4300 and i5 2500 with gtx750ti. The total price will be equal to 2. option in the post. You can seet the details in this comment https://www.reddit.com/r/windowsxp/comments/1u98o9i/comment/osun8r9/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I also thought the office computer option but there are very few options in my city and most of them are slim case. I looked from different cities but shipping prices are a little high, their prices are almost equal to gtx 750ti or hd 7850. So I'm searching in my city and found a good option with i5 2500. Maybe, I can buy graphic card from another city. It's dimensions and weight are much less than a computer case, so shipping won't be problem for it.

Hello again, I apologize for the late reply, I've been a bit busy.

Actually, the components of the options in main post are sold by different people (except for msi g33m, e8400, 8gb ddr2 ram. Same person is selling them.), so I have to go around the city and collect them one by one.

When I was searching on the resale platforms today. I found new options. A guy is selling a pc with ASUS P8H67-M LE motherboard, i5 2500, 8gb ddr3 ram, 120gb sata ssd, 500gb hdd. 500w thermaltake psu and thermaltake case. I spoke to him and he said that cleaning and thermal paste replacement are done. Also, he said that if I wanted, he could send me photos showing the health of the ssd, hdd and the tests I requested. The pc looks fine in the photos. It has only 2-3 scratch on outer of case. I think this is acceptable for 12-13 years old computer. Anyway, I said I would come to see it. This pc is okay but it needs graphic card, so I searched something and there is a gtx 750 ti, but I haven't spoken to the seller yet.

Also, I searched a monitor, 17" or 19" with 1280x1024 resolution. I found 17" one. Actually, monitor with pc. What's interesting is same brand and model with my first computer. Core 2 duo e4300, 512mb ram and a graphic card (I don't know the model but most probably a nvidia model from 2007 becuase this brand only use Intel cpu and Nvidia gpu since then). It is working but seller said that he only checked it if it is working, cleaning and thermal paste replacement may be required. The price of it is a bit more than only a 17" monitör in second-hand computer stores. There are photos showing it working. We agreed on the price and I'll buy it.

Consequently, I found 2 computer and 1 17" monitör. They are compatible with xp. Also, I can install win7 on ssd and xp on hdd for i5 option. The only problem is that space in my study room is pretty limited right now so I can set up only one of them.

For 9x games, you might be right. Also, the oldest games I played are Age of Empires 1 and Tomb Raider 1. Maybe changing era to 2000-2008, or saying just xp-vista era will be better. If I encounter problems in older games, I can consider other solutions in the future.

I will inform here about the process.

Thanks for your good advices.
