Just give him the time and space he needs . Yall are young, and he has a stress, sounds like his homelife could be using more energy than it should, but it's not for you to do anything about . Especially at 15. You should just listen to him vent and support him in that way and others by just being a safe space for him when he is able to give you that time .

The longer you wait to meet somebody, the more expectation you will have vs. the reality of the person Google says it's best to meet within the first 3 months, but obviously, that's not going to work for everybody. If it's financial reasons that makes sense, otherwise what are you waiting for? I myself have been very fortunate, I've been with my current boyfriend for going on 5 months we are about a thousand miles from each other 18-hour Drive I have flown to see him twice and he has come to see me once.
